Not to be a homer, but I do really like Len as a broadcaster. I think we're really lucky to have him...and to a lesser degree, Bob...given all the crap out there. Plesac, I'm looking at you...

I was joking around, he knows I don't really want him to get cancer (or do I?)

Your mom.

I've always liked Dick Enberg. Don't know why, just always have.

Are you kidding me????? The guy who's most emotional phrase is "Oh, My!". What generation are you from????

Posted

The responders here are too obsessed with baseball. Len Kasper??? If he wasn't calling for the Cubs, would you even have heard about him? At least everyone knows, or at least recognizes who Bob Uecker is, even if they don't watch baseball.

Jim Nantz, from the current crop of broadcasters, is one of the all-around best. He calls games in multiple arenas, and does them all superbly. The right amount of emotion and know-how. I prefer it when he's the guy calling the game instead of the guy back at the studio. CBS needs to put him on the front line more often, leave the studio gig to some face man who job is simply to sum up and shift us from one game to the next. I mean, who listens to those studio guys? Isn't that when everyone goes to the jon or the fridge anyway?

For me the vote is still out on Brent Musberger and Al Michaels. I like them, but not sure if I'd put them in the line-up with Nantz.

For the previous generation, I'd go with Marv Albert.
