The Riot is so hot im worried he's using all his hits. :)

Kinda hope he cools down a little.

He made 2 really nice plays at 3b on saturday.

Well, if we do that, we better hope the whole team cools down-Theriot has had a very good spring so far, but if you compare him to the 8 starters he would only be having the 6th best spring out of the 9 players.

How do you say? AVG wise only Lee is better. He is tied with Barrett at .400 but has a higher OBP. I havent looked at OPS.

Izturis and Lee are better in AVG

Izturis and Lee are better in OBP

Lee, Izturis, Ramirez, Barrett, and Murton are better in OPS.

Izturis OBP this spring is purely an anomoly IMO. Soon he will be back to the .280-.290 range that we all know and hate.

Yes, I do realize that using the "sample size" argument can be turned around on me becaues The Riot OBP in 06 isn't based on a large sample size either. But I'm confident he can do better than our current starting SS.

and I'm confident that Izturis can get close to Theriot in that department :D

I guess we can come back and actually find what happened after the year.

For sure. Count on me to find some argument(valid, or completely off the wall) to try and prove I was right.

Morans.

Sarcasm?

Who, me? Never.

Funniest thread I have read in a long time. Oh yeah, I forgot. Funniest thread I have read in a long time, irregardless. :D

Ideally I'd like to have Theriot as a super-sub to give several players off days.

Of course, for this to happen, it means Izzy and DeRosa will have to play well. I donno... I just really would like to see Cesar have a great season and return to his pre-injury (2004?) form.

Irregardless

This is all a mute point though, The Riot will get his playing time and he will be dominate.

I'm glad he is on the team. Personally, if he can play SS everyday, I think he could take over for Izzy at some point this season. It would be an upgrade offensively.

Good, now the last thing we need to hear before the season starts for me to have good feelings about this season is "Tomas Perez did not make the cut" or "Tomas Perez was cut from the team" or "Tomas Perez...well you get the idea.

Slang and acronyms are used because they are easy and informal, thus nice for a message board. WHat bugs me about "irregardless" is that it's simply a dumb word. :)

Saying "regardless" means the EXACT same thing as "irregardless," even though the ir- prefix EVERY OTHER time means opposite. :)

Your damn right brother.

"Irregardless" is like saying "de-caffeine-free"

fixed

fixed again, 'cuz it's my damn right!

Ahhh!!!! "Mute point", head exploding...

PS I know you're being facetious.

Irregardless is not modern English. It's just wrong. It's not slang, it's a mistake. Whoever says irregardless really means to say regardless.
