Bruce,

I'm guessing you're staying in Mesa?

I am in Mesa. I haven't seen the other lineup, but Pie is in there, as is Murton, DeRosa, Kinkade, Dopirak (DH), Colvin and maybe Koyie Hill catching.

I just programmed my vcr for the game, and noticed on the interactive menu/grid through Comcast that they mention the televised game will be the Texas game. :? :-k

EDIT: Just checked around... TitanTV.com agrees with Comcast, but TVGuide.com and Cubs.com have the Padres game on TV.

Not that it matters much, but a little consistency would be nice.

What's a VCR?

Its a mechanical tivo. Its runs on these things called tapes. My grandma had one once. :)

Game Notes.

The Cubs have had runners on base in 22 of their last 24 innings played … Chicago’s streak of 17 straight innings with runners on base came to an end yesterday, when they went down in order in the third inning against San Diego.

The Cubs have a whopping .362 batting average (55-for-152) during this four-game winning streak.

Chicago has hit nine home runs this spring training, tied for third-most (with four others) among National League clubs … the Cubs have 11 stolen bases, which ranks second behind Colorado’s 17.

Speaking of long balls, the Cubs have homered in seven straight games … last season, the Cubs belted homers in seven or more consecutive games just once, during a season-high 12-game streak from August 5-18.

Upcoming Probable Starters:

Sunday vs. Milwaukee: RHP Claudio Vargas (0-0) vs. RHP Jason Marquis (0-1)

Monday @San Francisco: RHP Carlos Zambrano (0-0) vs. TBD

Tuned in just in time to catch Tomas Perez in action. He actually makes me miss Neifi and Macias.

I wont promise to keep this going for too long, or do to well at it, but oh well...

Soriano with a soft liner to short for an out.

Izturis flails at a 1-0 pitch and grounds out softly to short.

Lee looks shorter... I'm debating whether it's the camera work or the different aspect ratio on the new tv.

Lee K's swinging.

In the Texas game, the Cubs are already up 2-0. Pie got out, Theriot got hit, and then Murton hit a 2 run HR. Kinkade has since followed with another hit, and the Cubs are still batting up 2-0 in the top of the first.
