BTW, MLB's box score has no error on Izturis.

The "official scoring" in ST is done by the home teams Director of Media Relations. So take all those box scores w/ a grain of salt.

True, but the home team is San Diego, and the box score has the Padres with 2 errors-so there isn't any basis really for a bias to not give him an error-it at least says that it wasn't an easy play.

The announce team agreed that it was a play that should have been made.

Thanks for the info.

Not what you want to see out of a closer.

Not what you want to see out a reliever either.

Yeah...but he did basically get 4 outs before giving up the HR...the E at short and then the missed third strike...give the guy a break..

Sorry about that, sarcasm dosent come off well on a message board.

No problem...I'm just "sensitive" on the Wood topic this spring...

Completely unrelated note (and this is already discussed in rivals) but the Cards lost Kinney for the season today....

Kouzmanoff AB, 1 on, 2 outs:

Pitch 1: Strike

Pitch 2: Strike (God these guys suck at PBP)

Pitch 3: Ball

Pitch 4: Foul

Pitch 5: Ball

Pitch 6: STEEEERIKE! (No calling from the booth!).

Am I reading something wrong. Wood has 4 runs on 1 hit, one error and no BB?

HBP, BB, E6, HR/2out = 4R/1ER

My mistake it should read

HBP, E6, BB, HR/2out = 4R/1ER

Actually Wood didn't walk anyone - it was a K/wild pitch.

Sucks for him, but it wasn't a given that he'd have a spot, anyway.

Why is it an earned run when there were 2 outs and an error?

He gave up a homer with the bases juiced

Izzy with another hit

so if the inning would have continued and more runs scored, would they be considered earned, as well?
