Thanks CCP.

Boy, that 300 mill is sure doing wonders....why oh why can't we just beat down the Sox?

It's mostly the minor leaguers who are struggling here.

I'm not trying to overreact, it's just that I'm sick and tired of always losing to the flippin Sox. And that was Ohman getting rocked by some no-name minor-leaguer, wasn't it?

Yea Im with you..Living on the southside like I do, you hear about it no matter what even if it is ST, its annoying, I hear anti-cubs stuff almost everyday from their scumbag fan base

I hear you! I grew up on the South Side and they don't care that this game is meaningless...

I wore my Soriano Jersey to the bar a couple nights ago, as soon as I walk in 2 guys around my age 22,23 say " This is the [expletive] South Side" " Soriano Sucks" " The Cubs Suck" blah Blah, I just say " Its funny how you and the rest of your fanbase care more about what the Cubs do and hating us than caring about your own team. You guys are a classy bunch."

Its pretty typical over here when you wear your Cubs gear or say your a fan.

Lou started slumping with regret back around the 6th inning or so. Poor bastard really didn't realize what he was getting into.

LET'S GO COBS.

I know it well! I was wearing a Prior Jersey in an Oak Lawn Dominick's, around September 2003, and the butcher had the nerve to get on me. Not only was he being unprofessional he was offering unsolicited comments. I've had similar run-ins over the years... A lot of the South Side idiots feel it's their civic duty to tell you what team to root for.

I have no love for them.

Anyone else think Ozzie threw Aardsma and Sisco today to give it to the Cubs a bit. He's a foul-mouthed, hot-headed a**, but I bet I'd like him if he managed my team. He's not afraid to give it to the other day.

I can tolerate losing to the Sox. I really can. But what I can't tolerate is losing to the Guillen led White Sox team. I really hope Ozzie Guillen Accidently" runs into somebody's fist this yr.

LOL, I said that last night in this thread. That's what the Sox do; try to stick it to the Cubs whenever possible. Don't underestimate all the years Ozzie Guillen played as a Sox. I know there will be people here that think it's crazy but the Sox don't hide their disdain for the Cubs. Williams has been, acting like he's the smartest person in the room, taking shots at us all offseason.

This stings a little but I know it's a nothing game. I just want the Cubs to have a successful season.

Can't wait to see the Cubs on TV. I might have to get up early to watch this thing.

Yeah so that didn't happen. Kinda slept through the game.

How bad did the Cubs look today?

I don't ever like losing to them. When the Cubs and Sox had the "Windy City Classic" (before interleague games) it was the most contentious series of the year. Unfortunately, it seemed like every Cubs manager downplayed the series while every Sox manager always had his best people play against us.

It's like Lovie Smith saying the Bears were going to beat the Packers when he was hired. Ozzie said he'd beat the Cubs because that was (still is) the most important thing to him, and their fan base, before they won the WS.

Starters didn't look terrible-Hill with a solo homer given up, but looked pretty good otherwise. Soriano was 3 of 3 with 2 doubles, and Murton added a pair of BB's. The pitching later was simply awful. It wasn't really as bad as the 13-2 score indicated though, and the starting lineup for the Cubs still looks all right.

It was mostly Minor League damage but Ohman and Howry gave up a combined 5 runs (I think). :?

That's a situation where you take business elsewhere and let management know why.

Since I don't live in Chicago, I've never had to deal with that too much. One comparable situation I had was at a restaurant here in Louisiana last December. I went into a restaurant wearing my Dallas Cowboys hat. My guess is the waiter was a Saints fan. As I sat down, not only did he take my drink order, but informed me the Cowboys sucked. I just smiled and said, "yeah...whatever." Everytime he came to the table, he had something to say about my being a fan of the Cowboys. Now normally, I'm a decent to good tipper, but today, I left the waiter a quarter and a note that said, "Here's a tip: When waiting tables, it's best not to annoy the people you're serving."

My bill was nearly $50 and this is a restaurant that I know has tip shares based on the price of the ticket. I'm pretty sure he had to pay for the right to wait on me that afternoon. Maybe he'll learn to keep his mouth shut. I don't mind a little good natured ribbing, especially from people that I consider friends, but his was quite annoying.
