...this time he is feuding with former Sox pitcher Brandon McCarthy.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Manager Ozzie Guillen fired Friday at former White Sox pitcher Brandon McCarthy for questioning the makeup of the Guillen's Sox clubhouse and alleging it possessed a negative atmosphere.

"I don't see Neal Cotts talking about me, I don't see Freddy Garcia talking about me," said Guillen, who also revealed he called McCarthy into his office last season about his late-night habits. "I don't see Timo [Perez] or Sandy Alomar Jr. or any of those guys. I think it was an unnecessary comment he made."

"I'm not going to get into a war of words," McCarthy told the Dallas Morning News in Surprise, Ariz., before Kansas City played Texas, to which McCarthy was traded on Dec. 23. "Games are about to start, and we've got things to do. I did not mean anything negative about the clubhouse atmosphere with anything I said and I've talked to people to make sure they understand that."

"I think Brandon should look himself in the mirror," Guillen said. "I say, 'Who is the bad guy in the clubhouse?' Then say it.

"You played with us 162 games and all of a sudden you leave and say you don't have a friend in the clubhouse, only Brian Anderson? Well, he picked the wrong guy to be friends with.

"People forgot that Brandon McCarthy got caught a couple of times out at night. I called him into my office and said, 'You been hanging around the city a lot, huh?' I said, 'I don't have a spy on you, but I know a lot of people in the bars in Chicago. I've been here for 20 years, and they will tell me everything.'"

Said McCarthy: "All I can say is that I'm 23. I'm single. And I'm in a big city like Chicago. I don't believe going out after a game ever affected my performance. I was very responsible about it. I wasn't out partying. I was out just trying to be young and meet people. Ozzie and I had a meeting about it, and that was that."

Anderson concurred with McCarthy's comments.

"Word got around that something happened, like, 'Hey, they were out' or 'We saw so-and-so,'" Anderson said. "I can see why they'd be upset. Brandon was getting lit up and I was batting .150, and they see us eating late and having a beer. It doesn't look good, but it wasn't a point where are extracurricular activities were getting in the way of baseball. It never has."

Diarrhea of the mouth, that doesn't sound good.

Well i guess it is better than IN the mouth.

Here is the part i thought Ozzie was a real dick. I know....as if he wasnt one before.

"He forgot he lost a couple of games for us," Guillen said of McCarthy, who was 4-7 with a 4.68 ERA. "He lost at least five of the 72. We might be in the playoffs without him."

Nice.

I think Sweet Lou and Ozzie are going to butt heads.

it'd be fun to watch, but this team doesnt need any distractions. its the sox turn to fall apart this year.

If Ozzie Guillen actually gives Darin Erstad 400 at bats, he really will have his job in jeopardy.

I can't wait for the first time Erstad goes 0 for 3, but gets praised for moving a runner over and sac bunting or some nonsense like that.

I'm guessing that day is coming real soon too.

Brian Anderson, Sean Tracey, Brandon McCarthy, and Rich Hill could start a "We hate Ozzie Guillen" support group, and nobody would blame them.

I really hope the White Sox gets rid of both Ozzie and AJP, after the season.

The White Sox are a ridiculous bush league organization. How anyone can want to play there after their last few years of trashing anyone who leaves and dares speak less than glowing words about their racist manager and idiot GM is beyond me.

It's mindboggling that Guillen---who is credited for leading the WS to the Wseries title, even tho the team won't DESPITE his ability as a manager---can keep his job, after everything he has said and done. I'm hoping the Sox are 100% healthy but finish under .500 and finish the season in 4th place at least 15 games out, so that Ozzzie can be fired.

I like how Ozzie's mind works. He can say whatever he wants about anybody, but god forbid anyone question him in anyway, then they are just out of line.

Kenny Williams is the same way. He's always telling people to "stay out of White Sox's business" yet he trashes former players and is constantly pointing fingers at the Cubs for "irresponsible spending." What a hypocrite. He's one of the reasons why Ozzie has such a long leash.

I wish I could tell you guys some of the things that I have heard regarding how screwed up and unprofessional the White Sox brass is. I wish I could do it.

Perhaps Abe isn't really who he says he is. Maybe he's wearing a leather jacket and sweater vest.
