I think they tried to trade him all offseason with little to no luck. He makes too much money for his production, and the Brewers would have to pick up a significant portion of that salary to move him.

The Padres appeared to have some interest, but that was before the gave Marcus Giles a contract, and it might have even been before they signed Jose Cruz Jr. The Padres are looking at Termell Sledge and Cruz in LF.

Honestly, I can't think of any teams that want or need an injury-riddled, high priced, aging ballplayer like Jenkins, while promising him a bunch of playing time.

"They owe me that, as much as I've done for the organization"

What has he done?

He's given them above average results when he's played.

so...he did his job? wow, let's hear it for him.

"I've got to go (if not playing regularly). I need to go. They owe me that, as much as I've done for the organization, to at least put me in a situation where I get a chance to play," said Jenkins, who took part in his first workout of the spring."

Aren't the Brewers planning on doing just that?

Word around this area is that he will platoon. He was benched last year for a couple horrible streaks yet finished the year strong.

The Crew's outfield is crowded especially now that Hall is in CF.

Like I said, it will be interesting to see this play out. Mench, Hall, Clark, Jenkins, Hart all up for three spots.

i'd take brady clark off their hands if they'd take a player like cedeno for him.

This is now turned interesting...

Kevin Mench said he will "pitch a fit" if the Brewers go into the season with him starting only against left-handers.

This following on the heels of Geoff Jenkins saying he doesn't want to platoon may force the Brewers to pull off some sort of trade. Mench, though, is obviously in need of a reality check. The 29-year-old had a 733 OPS versus everyone last year and has a 746 OPS against right-handers in his career. That'd be nice if he played shortstop, but he's a corner outfielder and not a particularly good one. He still might have some decent years ahead of him as a full-time player, but he's hardly earned the right to have anything given to him.

The Cubs aren't the only team that is dysfuntional.

Cards have Rolen/LaRussa. Duncan/Pitching staff. And Yadier Molina/the ability to hit a baseball.

Brewers have a tag-team of Jenkins/Mench .v. the Org.

The Reds have: Battle Royale for those to make the pitching staff.
