I think they are trying to get Liberty Media out of Time Warner by giving them the braves and Muscle Car Magazine.

 

This deal will reduce the amount of Time Warner Shares Liberty owns.

 

I don't fully understand what is going on, but it sounds like a boardroom bet was lost or something?

The Braves should still contend with Cox and Schuerholz at the helm, so long as Liberty doesn't tie their hands too much. It seems to be the concensus by other posters that Liberty will be worse for the Braves than being owned by Time Warner. What are these opinions based on?
