Sure did:

PalmBeachPost.com"]GAINESVILLE — Former Florida QB Chris Leak wasn’t drafted Sunday, but he has already found himself an NFL team.

Chris signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent within hours of the conclusion of the draft, his father Curtis Leak said Sunday.

“His agents had a bunch of offers, and he chose Chicago,” Curtis Leak said. “It’s a real good situation.”

I'm not really thrilled with the idea of moving Alex Brown right now. Moving Brown or Ogunleye after the season, sure. But they'd have to get something nice for right now.

Good to see Leak get picked up.

I know he doesn't have the things that scouts like, but he's a proven winner and a great guy too. He won't be a detriment to the Bears.

Um...did someone suggest moving Alex Brown?

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears will likely look to trade DE Alex Brown, after drafting DE Dan Bazuin in their second-round pick.

Thanks. Wow...I'm not in love with that idea.

Alex Brown is most certainly the wrong DE to trade. I know Ogunleye is popular in the locker room and Bazuin brings a lot of the same things that Brown does, but Ogunleye's play is worse and he's paid more.

Eh. Alex is a better player than Ogunleye, and IIRC, he has a friendlier contract. It doesn't make sense to draft a player in order to trade someone else. Should have worked out something in order to get an extra pick.

Beat me to it.

Well, reading the actual quote now, all he said is that it's likely, meaning it's only speculation.

I'd be surprised if Angelo did that.

Brad Biggs"]With Bazuin's arrival, the Bears likely will be shopping Brown, who is expected to be leapfrogged by Anderson if he stays. One source said Brown has been working harder than ever in the offseason program to stave off his competition. But with a modest contract, he makes sense as a player the club might dangle, with Seattle a possible destination.

The 6-3, 266-pound Bazuin set school records with 33½ sacks and 61 tackles for loss. General manager Jerry Angelo said he also could play inside if needed.

''We took him with the understanding that he was the best player,'' said Angelo, who didn't discount the possibility of trading an end.

Yeah I just read the article on suntimes.com...I'm hoping this is Brad just trying to be too smart.

What is the DE rotation right now? Alex Brown, Adewale Ogunleye, Mark Anderson and Bazuin now, right? That's not enough DEs to actually trade one yet, not the way Lovie and co. like to rotate d-linemen.

Is Idonje gone?

Oh, ok. There's Israel, he makes 5...but one is a rookie.

I don't see the value in trading one of the DEs (and I'd definitely trade Ogun over AB) at this point.

The problem is that you have to have two parties to make a trade. If they could work something for Ogun, it would probably just be a dump where they don't get much in return. Brown could possibly bring value back. So it depends on whether you think there's more benefit to freeing up the cap space or in getting something in return as to which player would be the right one to deal.

Whether they should make a deal or not is another question.

I think if that's the case, the cap space is more important. The difference in the cap space is more at this point than the difference in the return you'd get back from each. I don't think either will bring back something that fulfills a need.

How about Alex Brown, Lance Briggs, and the Bears #1 in 2008 for Rocky McIntosh and the rights to LaRon Landry.

Would that really require their #1?

I think Biggs was speculating that the Bears wanted to trade a DE. I'm not so sure the Bears want to trade a DE. They've said all along how they want to create competition at key spots. DE is a spot where the starters underperformed last year. The Bears defensive scheme is predicated on the defensive line getting into the backfield. Ogun and Brown didn't cut it last year. They weren't bad but they didn't meet expectations. Bringing in a 2nd round DE just creates more competition and will likely bring out the best in everyone. At worst, it gives the Bears a continuous stream of fresh DE's to bring in throughout the game.
