It's looking more and more like Clemens will return again this year, but he's likely not returning until after May according to comments he's made recently.

Link.

"None of the teams are interested in seeing me before May, and that's great," he said. "I don't have an interest in playing right now in May."

It's still believed that if he pitches, it will be for either the Yankees, Astros, or Red Sox with the Yankees as the front-runner.

I found this quote particularly amusing.

"I'm failing at retirement," he said. "Let's just face it. I'm failing miserably at it."

Why wouldnt they be interested in him pitching until may? I think he's making that up so he can do his BS 3/4 season he did last year. Unless they feel he cant pitch a full year because he is wearing down, so start him late.

Will it be for Houston? If it is that's bad news for the Cubs and everyone else in the central, or will he actually consider going back to Boston or NY like he did last year?

Other than that Houston being his "hometown" or the state where he currently lives, per-se, I can't imagine Houston having a strong shot at the playoffs.

My guess, back in Boston or NY. Both of those two teams has a better chance of making it to the playoffs than Houston, IMHO.

I hope you're right, and I agree Houston doesn't have a great chance at the playoffs even if Clemens returns there.

Yeah. If I was a betting man, I'd probably bet that he'll go back to Boston/NY, as I previously said, that both of them have a better chance of making it to the playoffs.

I'm guessing that Roger wants to go out on a bang, which would be winning the World Series.

If Clemens is my teammate and he's pulling this "i'm not gonna pitch til may" bullcrap, I'd just as well kick his selfish ass as to support him.

Why hasn't my line drive to the face to end Roger's career occurrred yet??

This overdrama from him is painful every spring.

Clemens is one of the greatest pitchers ever to take the mound. I would like to see him pitch another year

he also has one of the biggest egos of any pitcher to take the mound. I've had just about enough of him and his indecision. Also, I'm convinced he is a roid monster, he looked like he was done in 96, then in 99, and again in 02. But somehow he miraculously regains his velocity and continues to pitch. Clemens is as big as a joke as Barry Bonds.

Bigger attention whore.....Roger Clemens or Brett Favre?

That is a tough one.

Curt Schilling?

Yeah, it definitely sets off alarm bells when you have some of the best years of your career in your mid-40s.

Some of the conspiracy theorists suggested that the fact that he didn't pitch until May of last year was because he was serving his 50-game steroid suspension, under-the-radar.

If Clemens pitches again, fine, just as long as he's out of the NL Central.

This time Clemens will demand to only pitch when his team is in Texas.

And he's signing with the Red Sox

For Rog it's win win. He gets to rest for an extra month or so and then get paid like he's played the whole year. It's funny how the press jumps all over a Sosa for showing up late but give Clemens a free pass time and time again for doing this. Even his little protege Pettite went that route.

I think he should get out there and pitch from opening day. He has too much leanway with teams.

Why?

Well when he was talking on ESPN yesterday ( might have been a replay?) he mentioned last season was a waste for him falling 1 game short. Well more then likely if he would have been in shape and pitched from opening day to the end of the season the astros would have won that one more game they needed.
