Report to AZ. I can't wait for the new season to begin. Competition should be fierce right out of the box for the remaining two starters spots with guys like Hill, Marshall, Prior, Miller and Guzman all fighting for a chance. Hopefully someone, Prior hopefully, will show that he is back and claim a spot early. I would also like to see Hill continue where he left off in Sept.

Hard to believe Spring Training is almost here, is everyone else excited?

Yes and no. I can't see past the Super Bowl yet, and will have some post-football depression for a bit. We also have College Basketball gearing towards the tourneys and to me that's infinitely more exciting than split squad games against the Mariners.

Yeah, the Bears have completely overshadowed the start of the baseball season for me. I can't get excited about it yet.

I have the baseball fever already. I was depressed going into last season, because I felt like the Cubs were putting on the field a very poor team. I am more excited this year then I have been since 2003 for baseball to start. Lou is going to hopefully be a big difference, and he will be able to use players to maximize their potential. The BEARS are GREAT and I am super excited about the Super Bowl, but that does not take away my anticipation for DA CUBS.

Ok, time for me to get roasted, but I am a Colts fan *ducks* and I am excited about the Super Bowl as well--but for me, nothing compares to baseball. I love March Madness, but I would rather pay attention to how the rotation falls into place, or who is surprising, or pro/regressing, or trade rumors. Bring on Pitchers and Catchers Day please!

i would have trouble watching a basketball game even if i were paid to do so. it's right up there with soccer & hockey in my book.

I just wanna see and hear the cubs again. And I am excited that 14 ST games will be telecast, along with 10 radiocast by wgn. I wonder if Len and Bob will be doing that TV games and Pat and Ron the radio ST games?

I don't like, nor watch college. But since I've got HD and the bulls have been doing well, I have enjoyed watching their games. .

I can't wait for baseball. However, it is hard getting pumped up for it when it's around 10 degrees' outside. Man I wish it was April.

I'm ready for April to get here as well. Even though I'm in Alabama, it's cold and depressing down here also. I'm planning on making a trip to Chi-Town for the series at Wrigley against the Reds the weekend of April 14th.

February 1 in Alabama is the same as April 14 in Chicago.

Well its about time. Im over the transaction period of baseball. Im not really focused on baseball yet, im sure ill need a couple weeks to decompress from this years football. Normally i am pretty pumped up about all this, just not this year yet. And im very optimistic about this year. I feel Division Champs is very feasible and possible.

1. Welcome to the forum. Look forward to talking baseball with you.

2. What do you mean, "cold"? Right now it is 0 degrees outside with a 25 mph sustained wind (35 mph gusts) resulting in a windchill of -23.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad that I found this great site. I'm a lifelong Cubs fan. I've not yet been to Wrigley for a game but I was at Game 1 of the NLDS in Atlanta in 2003 when Kerry Wood had the dominating performance on the mound and a big night at the plate. It was awesome and literally half or more of Turner Field was filled with Cubs fans. There are a lot of Cubs fans in the South even though the Braves still have a lot of bandwagon fans hanging around.
