I've run into Manning twice in bars around Indy, and he wasn't a jerk either time. He didn't buy me a drink or invite me to hang with him and his party, but I still don't think that makes him a jerk.

I've only met him once and he was great. Sure he has his faults but I do too.

My final 0.02 on the game: It was a great way to start. I couldnt think of a better way. I was at my cousin's house. We were so crazy I was about to puke. It's been a great season. It's sad guys like Urlacher and Kreutz may not get a ring, ever.

I hope Lovie doesnt leave either.

I will avoid all football media. Good luck having a good 5 months of bashing, Grossman.

As will I. Grossman didn't have a great game at all but he is about to be hammered. He has to know it's coming too.

I'm out

I'm going to leave robbie in my avatar for one more week (pro bowl mojo), then i have to see if a Cub can get the same rub that Robbie got from the high profile position in my avatar.

It's been a wild ride, wish we could have had Tommie and Mike.

I feel much worse for Mike Brown.

Just wondering, the only place I've heard about it is here, why all the sudden talk of Lovie leaving? I know he wants a new contract, but he's still got a year left, right?

There were rumors the Cowboys were interested. He does have one year left.

There's talk about trading him to the Cowboys for first round picks.

I assume that's the media barking.

Not gonna happen. The Bears will retain Lovie and he'll be the Bear head coach. No questions, in my mind. I believe there was a press release to this effect during the off week from the Bears.

Riveria may get the Dallas job, though.

I think the biggest question for the Bears is where do they go from now? The draft will be interesting to see what they do.

I dont see it either. Not many losing SB teams succeed after the following years.

We were playing without 2 pro bowlers.

Even if everyone stays there's no guarantee this team can repeat the success of this year. I think a tougher schedule may actually be a good think for the Bears.

My concern is with the offense. Rex has to get better. I think he will, but will it be quick enough while this core of players are here.

As a non Bears fan in a room full of hardcore Bears fans tonight, it was tough. I wasn't rooting either way (I was rooting for me to win mostly) loudly, but I was just amazed at how embarassing the Bears played tonight. The game was lost on the play of the defensive line and Rex. No pressure at all on Peyton, and they could not stop any interior runs AT ALL. Seriously, Tank, Ian, Boone, etc, were getting eaten up and allowed the line to get into Briggs and Urlacher to spring for consistently strong runs. Ogunleye was such a non factor tonight, in addition to Alex Brown, however, I bring up Ogunleye because he is somebody that HAS to go from this team. I don't know exactly what his cap hit is for 07, but is probably really high and for his mediocre production... they could do a lot better (ie. Anderson who certainly did not see enough of the field tonight and using it for Briggs and possibly Brown back on a cheap deal.)

Hunter Hillenmeyer was terrible tonight. The safeties were awful. Urlacher and Briggs were factors only when the Colts decided to run the stupid stretch play which isn't going to work against this fast of a defense. Terrible tackling.

And what more can you say about how bad Rex was tonight? I don't care if it is a slick field, slick ball, etc, he made some awful throws. He also could not hit guys in stride at all, throwing wide, behind guys, throwing the float ball and his handling of snaps all night was sickening. People in our group were enraged at his miserableness.

As for media scrutiny in the upcoming days, after that pathetic performance and Des Clark saying the "Colts wanted it more" (per Laurence post game with ob and doug) must have been disheartening for Bears fans to hear.

The Bears got outplayed much more than the score indicated. This easily could have been a 3-4 score game.

Well. We prepared for this game like crap. All week long I got the impression the Bears were just glad to be here.

Grossman played like *&^#. Two botched snaps? That should never happen. Ever. Much less in the SB.

The OL blocked like crap for 90% of the game. Benson getting hurt killed our running game, but that's just how it goes.

Hester is the man. Good game dude. Sorry your teammates were too busy dinking around in the media circus to prepare for this game.

We blew assignment after assignment and tackle after tackle.

Indy is good, but they're not that good.

They're the best team in the world.

No, they're the winner of the SB, not the best team in football, much less the best team in the world.

If that game is played on grass, Bears win. That may sound like sour grapes, but it's true. How about we actually have the SB in football conditions instead of a vacation destination.

The Bear's were simply out of their league. The Colts didn't play their best football, and still beat the Bears, the Bears would have lost to NE, SD, Bal, or Indy. SIMPLE.

sweet, i love when random people repeat what they hear on espn on the internet and act like its a unique thought

What? I don't need ESPN or the internet to tell me what to think. The Bears couldn't have beaten New England, Baltimore, or San Diego, or Indianapolis, and that blantantly obvious. You make it seems as though Indy, came and played their best game. When the fact remains, They played shaky as well.
