To root for the Bears is to root for Katrina.

Or so you'd think.

ya no kidding, thats what you get when you live in a bowl on a hurricane prone coast

Honest to christ, are you a kid? Are you 12 years old? Or maybe you are just a callous adult douchebag who can't spell and has crappy grammar.

You people need to stop with the Katrina stuff. What next, are you going to diss the World Trade Center victims because "people should know not to work on the top floors of skyscrapers because it's hard to escape if something happens"

difference between world trade center and Katrina

Katrina was seen coming for 3 days

World Trade center wasant

BTW its called common sense, when a Category 5 hurricane is coming directly for you, you find a way to get out of its way.

you can attack me and my grammar, dosent change the fact that New Orleans is milking what everyone said would happen for all its worth.

I was thinking about it five minutes ago, and just made up my mind ... I'll steer clear from here until gameday.

Yeah, this has gotten out of hand. I'm done here too. This isn't even really about football anymore.

I think I'm done here too. This is absurd. It's one thing to discuss football, and quite another to mock the thousands of people who died in the disaster, two of whom I knew personally.

From Yahoo.com:

Jan 19 New Orleans Saints WR Joe Horn (groin) was limited in practice Friday, Jan. 19, and will be a game-time decision for the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 21, against the Chicago Bears, although he is not expected to play. He is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

Come on people. This is a good thread, it's a good way to pass time until the game. We just need to calm down. Lay off the Katrina stuff, thats not cool or funny. Can't we have a civil debate about this game? We're all excited, lets just not be idiots.

Here's another storyline to debate...

How should the Bears attack the Saints defense? Everyone seems to want to run and control the ball, but the Saints weakness is in the secondary. I say let Rex air it out a bit and constantly attack in the 15-30 yard pass range, while mixing in about 30 carries between Jones and Benson.

So anyone know anything about Joe Horn's status?

Not looking good for him. Didn't practice today and will be a game time decision.

How should the Bears attack the Saints defense?

With gale force winds and a 35 foot storm surge! LOL! ROTFL! LMAO!

I think, what, 2 people made very awful and very inappropriate Katrina comments? Do we really need to drag this out? Yes, I know you're making fun of them for those comments, but still, between that and the "you people" thing making it sound like Bears fans en masse are making fun of the hurricaine, is this really necessary?

I would just like to say for the record, that my reference to rooting for the Bears felt like it is the equivalent to rooting for Katrina was only a reference to the fact that it is pretty lonely being a Bears fan in the US this weekend what with all the emotional energy put on the Saints and what it means to New Orleans.

I'm sorry that people died in New Orleans. I really am. What happened there was truly awful.

I also hope the Bears open up a Mardi Gras size can of whoop-a** on the Saints.

Much much much more appropriate than "Bears should finish what Katrina started"

How is there anything wrong with saying a Mardi Gras size can of whoop-a**. Mardi Gras is a huge festival. He is saying opening up a huge can of whoop-a** on the Saints. Your comment above was worse.

what i said might have been inappropriate but meteorlogists and scientists the world over said it was going to happen sooner or later. It sucks that they were so dead on in their predictions and its sad that the people in charge and the citizen didnt take the storm seriously.

None of which has anything REALLY to do with the football game we're talking about. This is hardly the time or the place to try and bring something like that up. That's just common sense.

No no. That wasn't sarcasm. I was telling the truth. That's a comment that made me laugh and I was down with it. "Mardi Gras sized can".
