Joe Buck must have some mental issues to be obsessed with Grossman and trying to bring down Chicago in general.

I saw that little segment on The OT where he was criticizing Grossman. It was some funny stuff. The guy definitely has some problems with the Bears and Chicago as well as Grossman in general.

It's not a surprise to me that Buck would say that the Eagles have a better chance in the NFC than the Bears. I definitely think that he is a closet Eagles fan.

I definitely think he's a closet something.

Grossman since the miserable game against the Vikings...

42/67 539 YDS 4 TD 0 INT

62.7 Completion % 8.04 Y/ATT 107.7 Passer Rating

Not a bad rebound.

Hopefully he can keep it up in the playoffs.

Definitely.

Still, it's good to know that good Rex was still around somewhere.

Absolutely. He looks very confident out there lately.

He's obviously comparing this years Eagles to last years Steelers and he isn't the only one who has done this.

"In the NFC, we don't know who the best team is"

Are you freaking kidding me? How about the team with a record thats 3 games better then the next best team?? How much more do the Bears have to do to prove that they are the best team in the conference...

Um...hello? The best team in the NFC has to either be in the NFC East, or been recently ravaged by a natural disaster. It's a rule.

How about win a playoff game?

The Saints haven't done that recently, and were being touted as the best in the NFC last week.

In a statistic that defines Grossman's season, his 104.3 passer rating gave him an NFL-high seven over 100 stacked up against a league-high four under 40.

Well, this pretty much confirms what we've all been saying about good Rex and bad Rex.

Amazing that he's had more really good games than any QB in the league, but his bad ones are so bad that they seem to completely overshadow that.

I don't think "recently" adequately describes that franchises horrendous p-off history.

BTW, three weeks ago the Cowboys were as good or better than the Bears.

Last week it was the Saints.

Now its the Eagles.

What does this tell you?

NFC teams with far worse records than the Bears who are eligible for the title next week?:

Falcons?

Packers?

Skins?

The prevailing thought out of Chicago is that Tank Johnson's days are numbered. The only thing preventing him from being cut now is the collective bargaining agreement. The Bears can't just release him without checking out all the ramifications. Thanks to the Terrell Owens problems of last year, teams can suspend a player for four games but have to document any release for non-football related activity. The only way he would stay on the roster is if the Bears didn't think they could release him. His Bears days are done.

So why would Lovie go out of his way to state the Tank is still a member of the Bears yesterday?

One more thought on this game:

Cedric Benson is going to be a star in this league

Think Larry Johnson, IMO. He langusihed behind Holmes for what, three years?

Not surprised in the least. I give Angelo credit for hurting the team's chances in the name of integrity.

I was just coming to post this quote.

I think we've learned that we can't believe anything Lovie says. Last year "Orton is our quarterback" turned into Grossman replacing him. This year "Grossman is our quarterback" was reportedly a bad half away from being untrue. This week he said that Hester was too busy with special teams and defense to play offense, but he was on offense for a play this week. And now this...

I'm sure there's more I'm missing, but I think the point is that Lovie isn't always truthful in the media. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, since I'm sure a lot of it is gamesmanship, but I think we need to consider that when evaluating his quotes.

Not sure what Peter King is on right now to think the Bears are the luckiest team in the NFL, and that the Saints are still the best team in the NFC.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/peter_king/12/17/week15/index.html

3. New Orleans (9-5). I give up on trying to figure out the NFC.

4. Chicago (12-2). I mean, I just give up.

The Bears have horseshoes in their shoes.

It's like he looked at the final score, or just watched the overtime period. The only real break the Bears got was the lack of a replay on Davis' catch. Everything else went against them. The biggest problem yesterday was a total lack of focus on defense after getting a huge lead.

Normally I don't get too involved in caring about how people rate us, but HOW CAN YOU RATE SOMEONE WITH A RECORD THATS THREE GAMES WORSE ABOVE US?!?!?!?!?!

Peter King we had 4 freaking defensive starters out including 3 Pro Bowlers, you ignorant man.
