Cedric Benson had 16 carries on Sunday, Thomas Jones had 11. I know it was mainly due to TJ's ankle injury, but I really like that distribution of the carries.

According to the radio, it wasn't a "medical issue" that was keeping Jones from getting more carries. And that was after it was reported that he hurt his ankle.

Of course, I still can't believe he didn't get yanked after his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

"I think it is about time we start looking at him as an offensive player," he said. "We needed the big plays and he stepped up and came through.

"It seems like we should start thinking about other ways to get him the football. He is making a big impact right now."

wise thinking by Lovie Smith. A guy like that can be very versatile because he's made a name for himself, and people will look out for him. You can put him in to run a couple of deep routes, run a couple of sweeps or end-arounds, or just a WR screen. At the very least, he'll serve as a good decoy if he's only in the game for 5 or 10 offensive plays a game.

Either Lovie is angling for the element of surprise come playoff time, or he has simply changed his tune since then.

We'll see. I harken back to another famous Lovie comment:

Chad Hutchison is our quarterback.

Lovie knows exactly how to manipulate the media.

I'd be shocked if Hester wasn't in a play or two during the playoffs.

I've grown used to it. And I've grown to dislike the accepted "professional play-by-play" voice that so many guys have trained themselves to imitate. Well, more like grown tired of hearing the same vocal tone over & over again from guys.

Joniak's original sounding, if a little amateur-ish. And he knows Bear football very, very well. If I didn't have the DirecTV delay I'd turn down the volume and turn on the radio broadcast every game.

Just heard on 670 that Tank Johnson didn't practice, isn't on the injury report, and wouldn't talk to the media in the lockerroom today. An update is coming shortly, supposedly.

This team does not need drama right now.

This team does not need DEFENSIVE TACKLE drama right now.

People are speculating its a steroids suspension meaning that he'd miss the rest of the regular season plus the divisional game.

Now the same people are hearing rumors that his house has been raided. He has 2 priors apparently.
