I really hope Rex turns it around. I was down on him today big time just like everyone else, but I hope next week he can turn it around against a mediocre to bad defense. Come on Rex, we want you to succeed!

And the cold is more of an advantage for the Bears than for their opponents...

Since when? They were saying something on the pre-game on The Score that the Bears are 19-17 {during cold games; don't remember the stat parameters}. That doesn't sound impressive.

That's assuming similar talent. The Bears had marginal talent for many years. Now they have a very good roster. They should have an advantage over teams who are not used to playing in this climate.

Hahaha I just watched Jon's highlights of the game on youtube, and thank God I didn't have to listen to Siragusa yelling randomly during plays. Stockton sounded very annoyed on one of those Bears interceptions.

"This looks a lot worse than what the pain is," Big Tommie said reassuringly after the game, a walking cast wrapped around his left leg. "I don't really have any pain."

---

"It was just when I was trying to get that burst, recovering and running," Vasher said. "I think the weather had a little bit to do with it. I just felt a little strain. I don't know the severity of it, but hopefully it's not too bad."

I wish I could be encouraged by that, but unfortunately with those knee injuries, sometimes there isn't a whole lot of pain even though the damage is significant.

We'll just have to see on Monday. I've got that sinking feeling though  Hey, cheer up: my predictions have been pretty bad lately 8-)

If they bench Rex, then they should bench Thomas Jones as well.

Cedric Benson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> T.J.

Honestly, I'm not a Rex fan at all, but I think Benson over TJ HAS to be the first move done, starting this week. Benson is a complete stud.

When's the last time we had a QB with only 34 total passing yards in a game?

seems like something henry burriss could have done

worst quarterback I've ever seen

obviously you lived in chicago that year

The non-fumble on the backwards "pass" and the TD-turned-safety were pretty bad.

tuck rule has been a bad rule for years.

no idea why it hasn't been fixed though

It's one thing when the tuck rule is used when the arm is going forward. It's another when both the arm and the ball are going backward, yet it's ruled a non-reviewable forward pass.

From John Clayton:

It's a good thing the Bears clinched the NFC North because the price they paid for their victory over the Vikings was steep. The buzz in the Bears locker room is that defensive tackle Tommie Harris may have suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury. Lovie Smith didn't say how bad the knee was hurt, but Harris told teammates after the game he might be seriously hurt. They had his knee in a cast. Cornerback Nathan Vasher suffered a hamstring injury toward the end of the day. And if that wasn't bad enough, Rex Grossman had a 1.3 quarterback rating.

Yeah, I think all Bear fans are pretty much bracing themselves for the Tommie Harris news. It's likely going to be a bad day :(

Okay, I'm done defending Rex. If Lovie wants to keep throwing him out there for now, fine, but if he doesn't improve soon, I'm going to jump on the bench him bandwagon.

If Tommie is done for the year, that really sucks. The first playoff game is still going to be 6 weeks away, so he might be able to come back. And at this point, I wouldn't want anything more than that. Then again, championship teams have to still be able to win when missing a piece or two. I think the Bears can survive and still thrive if Harris is out. This is when d-line depth will really start to pay off.

Benson needs to get the ball more.

Bench him in week 14 though? See, this is the problem with the whole bench Grossman scenarios. I don't necessarily disagree, but at this point in the season I don't care if you're Johnny Unitas, you need more than 3 games against tomato cans to get ready for tough playoff games.

I think three games would be enough for Greise to get ready. He's not some rookie who hasn't had any playing time. I agree with giving Grossman one more game to snap out of this, then I go to Greise. It's probably not the best long-term decision, but the Bears are in a position to make a run and can't afford to have this sort of QB play in the playoffs.

Let's not forgot in the 2nd half when a Vikings defender picked Grossman up and slammed in into the ground....no flag.

The Zebra's were a disgrace yesterday.

Man, I remember a team that had a QB come back from missing most of the season and play for about a game and a 1/2 before starting in the playoffs and doing pretty decent, despite his defense not showing up.

Hahaha.

And now we want to throw him to the curb
