Sweet pics...wish I could've been there for the game.

If you right click them and select "View image," they'll work. But for whatever reason, they're not showing on this page, TB.

Ok fine, that Rex played had awful stats in the first half when it was pouring and great stats in the second when it wasn't is a coincidence. I'd buy the small sample size argument, but I was sitting in that weather and there was a clear patch in for about the first ten minutes of the third quarter and thats when the Bears offense was really moving the ball and getting in the end zone. Coincidence? Small sample size? I'll buy it. That he played great in bad weather? That I won't.

Also, let me note that there's a huge difference in wind conditions on the field and in the decks at Giants Stadium.

What do you think the effect was? Were the rain droplets knocking his throws off course? Was the water getting in his eyes? The ball would have been wet even when it stopped raining and it was pouring during the last drive in the first half.

Rex's effectiveness is related to one thing: Pressure.

In other news, Tom Brady got pressured last weekend too and he also sucked hard.

Not saying Rex doesn't react worse than many others to pressure. But important to note that all QBs numbers start to look worse when the opposing D is able to get in their face-----even the mult-superbowl-winning variety.

And? Your point? If Rex has enough time to throw, he's shown that he'll be very effective. If he doesn't have that time, it's a lot tougher. In Sunday's game, the change was the Line started making blocks and opening holes. The Giants were well-prepared (no surprise there) for the Bears, and the Bears made excellent adjustments to New York's game plan. I thought Lovie and the staff clearly made a lot of correct calls and got things going.

Every RB, every QB, every WR and every offense lives and dies by its O-Line. That's just the way it is. They may not have the glamour, but they are incredibly important. When they fail, and allow penetration into the backfield, it's the QB, or the RB that takes the blame.

In this game, Rex had one bad pick, and it was costly. TJ and Moose had bad fumbles that were much more costly.

Personally, I thought Rex looked fine. Much ado about nothing here.

I don't understand this post. I agree with you. I must not have been clear. I don't think the weather had anything to do with it.

I agree. No quarterbacks are exceptional under pressure. I wanted to point out why, in the Giants game, he was bad early and better late.

How did I get pegged as a Rex basher in this thread? I wore his jersey to the game!

Wow, that's an unflattering Rex picture. You must really despise him unfairly.

Sorry if already answered, but for you Bears fans that were there, was there a lot of Bears fans there?

Yes. Probably more than there were the last time Chicago played there. NYG fans commented on how many fans were there. But not as many as I remember always going to the Tampa games.

Yes, there were a lot of Bears fans tailgating as well. Going to the bathroom at halftime I got many a pat on the back from fellow Bears fans.

are you one of the guys who wants to play kyle orton because he "didn't lose games" last season? apparently, people forget about the 5 INT cincinnati game.

i'll never understand it. not many quarterbacks can play well when their line is being demolished.

rex has made some bad throws this year, no doubt, but he's 12-4 over the course of his career-he doesn't lose many ballgames either....and he's never had a 5 INT performance while throwing a minimum of passes.

I don't think Soul was trying to bash Grossman at all, despite the reference to the "Turnoversaurus Rex," nickname. In fact, he made the exact same point you just made (about QB's not playing well under pressure) on the page before this.

LOL, now I see how easy it is to be suddenly labeled a "Rex basher."

Sulley, I'm a huge Rex fan. Just trying to make jokes and have a little fun, that's all.

I was actually surrounded by them, with the exception of my wife (also known as unsupportive Mets fan.) The people in front, behind and to my left were all Bears' fans.

I imagine there will be even more orange this week. Too bad Jets' fans suddenly decided that they're a playoff team.

my bad, the post sort of snowballed on me. :D

The whole Orton vs. Rex thing from last year is looking a little silly now with Grossman on pace to throw for 3700 yards and 30 touchdowns.

next year, however, i think orton will make griese unnecessary. does anyone know what the cap hit would be if we cut griese?

on second thought, a trade may be in order.

I think the cap hit would be the same with a trade or cut. Rex's cap number could be relatively low still, even if he resigns.
