Warning, the bitter "Gayle Sayers" is on CSN.

Expect some Walter Payton bashing.

easy on the kansas comet, there.

seriously, though, has he been bashing walter? not cool.

not tonight. He has taking some subtle shots on the radio before.

But he is ripping Benson tonight. Yeah, he was a great football player,

but his analysis right now sucks.

For me, beyond the Bears winning, the best part of the night was Hunter Hillermeyer knocking the kicker on his ass during Devin Hester' return.

For me it was sticking it in Hoculi's face. The guy obviously hates the Bears.

Up yours, Ed.

I'm not saying this wasn't a factor, but it looks like Giants fans are shrugging this off as the Bears only won because of the Giants injuries. I'm not sure how that affects Coughlin deciding to kick a long FG, Feely missing 2 FG's, and Eli being pretty bad tonight...

They can't get away with that. Because before the game, it was all about how Eli is developing and Rex isn't......how Eli is going to be the real deal and Rex is just a pretender.

But the fact is, when the chips were down, it was REX who was able to throw the ball and get the Bears back into the game. When it came time where Eli had to throw to get the Giants back, he started overthrowing everybody until finally Chris Harris was waiting on one and ended the ballgame.

So no, the NY crowd can't dismiss this one as just injuries. They had their offense pretty much intact. Eli has always had many more weapons than Rex to work with, and that was the case last night as well.

What was his problem? That manufactured call against Briggs, picked up the holding on Gilmore - good call yet, Ed and his crew missed Daneial Manning having his jersey ripped from his shoulder pads during Barber' long 3rd quarter run.

That was fun. It was well worth the completely soaked jeans. Giants fans were on edge all game, even with the lead. After the Bears came back a bitter old man sitting near me started telling me I better enjoy this because the Bears had no chance of going to the Super Bowl. I asked him who in the NFC was better, and he just sat there looking stupid.

What a difference a weekend makes

Last weekend:

-Bulls piss away home opener to Sacramento

-Michigan almost loses at home to Ball State and looks to be no match for OSU

-Bears play like crap and lose at home to Miami

This weekend:

-Bulls play crappy, but beat solid Indiana team

-Michigan dominates Indiana on the road, giving me renewed confidence heading into OSU

-Bears play great on the road, make the plays needed and beat the Giants.

BTW, it was really nice to see a Bears game that wasn't either:

A) A blowout

B) A sloppily played win

Yes there were sloppy moments in this game, but even though the Bears ended up winning by 18, it really felt like a competitive football game between 2 of the conference elite, with the Bears looking like the better team in the end. As great as it would have been to win by 40, I really enjoyed a back and forth football game that ended up with the Bears winning for once. This is what I dreamed about during those 4-12 seasons.

Abso-freaking-tively.

I'm really happy to see the running game get going, albeit against an injury-plagued defense. Grossman played solid after some poor throws and poor decisions early. Nice confidence booster to beat the #2 NFC team on the road (not to mention the cushion they got in the standings). Defense stepped up after being put in some bad situations early in the game.

Really just an overall solid win. Bring on the Jets.

Ugh...people I work with are blaming Grossman for the bad first half...kill me now.

Grossman wasn't great in the first half, but the O-Line and playcalling were much more to blame.

Did you tell them to explain to you how a QB is supposed to be effective when they rush the ball 8 times for 1 yard? Or when their OL is a sieve? Or when their receivers drop everything that touches their hands?

I asked if the fact that the Bears couldn't run in the first half was Grossman's fault, and got a half joking reply..."Probably!"

It's just a guy that it's pretty pointless to argue with.

I've never seen a worse game called from an offensive holding standpoint. After the Giants' tackle went down, the replacement was horse-collaring Alex on every play. Seriously: EVERY PLAY. That's holding, and it's Ed's call since he's the guy who stands back behind the line. He was letting it happen all damn night until the 4th quarter.

That's just unacceptable. And then to hear Madden call him the best. It made me sick. The guy is just a horrible, horrible ref.

But you have to admit that Madden did call them out on the bad horsecollaring call on...was it Briggs?

I believe it was Briggs. Madden called him out on the poor review of Tillman's knee, too. Which made it all the more puzzling that he went on to call Ed one of the best referees in the game. He's the most physically fit ref---I'll give him that. But he needs to get his eyes and his brain in as good a shape as his biceps.

The Bears might of gotten away with one on the fumble that Brown caused. As he was stripping Manning from behind, Tommie came in low and dove at Eili's legs below the waist. That could have been a 15 yarder and negated the fumble. That makes up for the mess up on the fumble earlier in the game. Each time i see the replay now i say whew that was a close one.

I just got back and you should have seen that place after the 108 yard return. You could have heard a pin drop. Awesome.

A lot of people were trash talking because of my Rex jerset early, but that ended pretty quick.

Hester=speed.

Goony where did you sit? There were a bunch of Bears fans there.

section 119. Lower level, corner of east end zone. Walking in I heard a Giants fan say "Man, there are a lot of Bears fans here." I went with a friend who is a Giants fan.

Well I made the mistake of watching Around the Horn briefly (actually, it just so happened to be on and I forgot to change the channel), please explain to me how these guys actually have jobs, and why people watch this crap. By the way, has there ever been an 8-1 team who has been called overrated and 'not good' more than the Bears this year?
