What's the deal with the accompanying picture in the ESPN link?

It looks as if Bochy was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting.

Any chance Dusty goes to the Pads? He's a west coast kind of guy, afterall.

If things break bad with Lou in Chicago, this will be another missed opportuntity by Hendry.

If things break bad with Bochy in San Fran, this will be another GREAT JOB by Hendry . . . Little early for revisionist history, even for a cub fan :)

If it is said before hand it cannot be revisionist history. Bochy has demonstrated that he is a very good manager and his philosophy is much more in line with mine.

Time will tell.

Well, that's my point. You're already bringing up a hypothetical situation, and based off of that (which you invented), you're questioning Hendry's decision.

Questioning why Hendry (seemingly) did not go harder after Bochy who apparently was able-to-be-had is a very valid concern - it certainly got my attention. But my point is, the "missed opportunity" should be considered regarless of how Lou does.

San Diego Union-Tribune: "Bruce Bochy heard the whispers. He catered too much to veterans. He was too impatient with young players."

Dusty is that you?

Bottom line is that if the Cubs get some decent players, the Cubs would win with Piniella, Bochy, Girardi, or Brenly. I'm a firm believer in good players make good managers. None of those guys, Leyland, La Russa, or Guillen could have won with the 2006 Cubs. Bring in a couple of top FAs and make one impact trade and the Cubs will be in contention in the NL Central.
