PS: Skiles, if you take minutes away from Tyrus rather than the PJ/Malik/Griffin segment of the team, I will hunt you down and smack you hard across the face.

Skiles:

"They would be a good combination playing together," he said. "I don't think it's going to affect Tyrus' minutes. Ultimately, maybe we'll think this was a blessing. Maybe 'Chapu' will be fresh and give us punch off the bench and make our second unit get better with Tyrus."

We'll see if he goes on his word, but I still see Tyrus losing minutes over PJ.

Brown wouldnt be as bad as Malik Allen or Griffin. Still, Thomas has earned the right to get quality minutes.

I think Skiles knows Tyrus is ready to be a big contributor on this team. I don't see his minutes getting drastically cut when Noc is back. It'll be nice to actually have some firepower off the bench again.

I doubt it. PJ has been slowly losing more and more minutes to Tyrus over the past week or two

Reports of Tyrus being a bust were greatly exaggerated :)

what, we don't want to fire Skiles and Paxson now? you mean people overreacted? say it isn't so!

Quick NBA draft question for you all:

Assuming the Bulls don't get a top 3 pick (thus, no Oden/Durant), what should be their top priority? Coming into the season, most said a big man who could score. Has TT shown enough for the Bulls to focus elsewhere? Personally, I'd like to see a 2-guard with size. I really like Hinrich and Gordon, but defensive matchups are rough when facing a SG who is 6'6". Thoughts?

thabo is their 2 guard with size. he just hasn't been given the minutes this year. i'm sure he'll be phased into the standard rotation eventually.

he's good when i've seen him out there, and he'll be able to guard players like kobe and lebron when he gets more minutes.

edit- there isn't anyone we could get in the draft who'd be a better option.

Now, now. Don't be too hasty. It depends on what they do in the playoffs. If they wash out early, don't you think there will be justification to say Skiles isn't getting the most from these players?

Look at the talent on this team. If they don't make the conference finals, Skiles isn't getting the most from them. Don't you think that's a fair assessment?

Looks like the cheap seats went in about 2 minutes. I was able to grab a pair for game B in round 2, but I probably won't even be able to go. We'll see.

Thabo's 8.39 PER this season leaves a lot to be desired. Duhon's PER his rookie season was 9.87. Hinrich's was 13.12, Gordon's 14.92. Perhaps Thabo will blossom with more minutes, but there's also a good chance he'll never be more than a role player like Duhon.

All depends on the seeding and Nocioni's health. If they lose their opening round series, presuming they have home court, that assessment's probably fair. If they end up the 5 seed and lose to the Pistons in the second round, I don't see any shame or blame in that.

I thought playoff tickets go on sale 10 am this Saturday?

Disagree. Nick Young will be better than Thabo.

I'd definitely go after a big man - Horford, Hawes, Hibbert - any of those would be fantastic.

duhon and hinrich were 4-year college starters and gordon was the top reserve in the NBA.

the american game is relatively new to him, and the amount of PT makes a valid assesment, either quantitative or qualitative, very hard.

imo, thabo will be one of the best all-around players in the NBA at one point in his career. that's pure speculation, but i really believe that it will happen.

Yeah, if any of those guys are on the board, it's a no-brainer. The Bulls still need a big man. I like Thabo and all, but man I really wish the Bulls would have gotten Brandon Roy in the last draft. He would have allowed them to trade Gordon or Hinrich for that big man.

Corey Brewer I think would be a great pickup too. I see him as a 2-guard even though he's 6'9".

Yeah, Brandon Roy was my favorite choice in last year's draft.

And I just realized that in my pic of Nick Young, Brandon Roy is guarding him. Heh.

Thabo played pro ball in Europe from 17 on, and he, Duhon and Hinrich were all 22 at the start of their rookie seasons in the NBA.

the american game is relatively new to him, and the amount of PT makes a valid assesment, either quantitative or qualitative, very hard.

Minutes played do not factor into PER. It's a per minute stat.

It's wild speculation after you factor in his performance during his rookie season.

I like Roy and all, but I like Thomas more. Although Roy's had the better rookie season, Tyrus has come on strong lately and he's 2+ years younger than Roy.

If the Bulls pick in the 9-11 range, I think Brewer will be gone. But I do love his length at the 2.
