With a loss today and a Minnesota win, the Tigers have blown the AL Central and won the Wild Card. They will now have to go to New York in the first round.

I assume you mean AL. Well, the Sox blew it, so I guess it was the Tiger's turn.

Its like the Sox collapse of last year, except this time it actually happened.

Yeah I did mean the AL. I don't think the Sox necessarily blew anything since the Tigers were in control of the AL Central the whole year.

The Sox blew a pretty big WC lead at the All-Star break.

Wow, they went from 8.5 games over Minnesota on July 1 to a 1-game lead on July 31.

A bigger overall loss of games by Detroit, but still impressive.

eta: though I suppose not nearly as impressive as losing 7 games in a week like the Cardinals did

The Wild Card is a crapshoot. I realize that they lost 7.5 games in the WC standings in a month and that is never something to brag about but with the WC there is the potential for numerous teams to get hot and catch you. With the division, realistically there will be maybe two teams with a chance to catch you. And they got swept by the Royals to end the year.

This may be the most unintentually funny thread title ever.

Gotta agree with that. Didn't even think about any sexual innuendo until you pointed it out.
