I'm hearing the best player might be David Price from Vanderbilt.

if he gets a big name agent the chances of teams picking ahead of

us:

KC

Tampa

Pittsburgh

Likely wouldn't draft him anyways.

The Royals took Hochevar this year and tampa took Delmon Young in 03 so I don't think that they would neccessarily avoid the big money guys. The pirates would be stupid to do so because there franchise is such a mess and it would be another bad PR move in string of many.

Is he really rated #1 you think? What position does he play?

There is no clear-cut #1, but Price has as good a shot as anyone else.

Others who have been talked about highly and could possibly go #1:

RHP Andrew Brackman, North Carolina State

C Matt Wieters, Georgia Tech

RHP Matt Harvey, HS (Connecticut)

RHP Michael Main, HS (Florida)

SS Justin Jackson, HS (North Carolina)

So even if we are #2 or #3 in the fecal league, we should still have our pick of a really good player, right?

Yeah, this should be a really strong draft...especially at the high school levels.

Frankly, I'd love Wieters or Price.

Call me crazy but I want position players, and when I say that I mean best available, not a stretch like Colvin. Wieters please :)

I agree it would be nice to see some position players...but this organization has alot better luck with finding arms IMO.

Maybe we can rebuilt with young guns part II

Rich Hill

Sean Gallagher

Donald Veal

David Price

While he's got a great arm, I'm all for drafting Matt Wieters as a position player.
