Nashville lost too, so Iowa finishes tied with Nashille. Damn tiebreaker.

PCL American North
Nashville 76-68 .528 -
Iowa 76-68 .528 -

A very valiant effort on the part of Iowa. Their starting rotation was completely gutted the last few weeks and they finished 1 game from the playoffs. Most of August and early September, they were without Guzman, Hill, Walrond, O'Malley, Aardsma, Wuertz and part of that stretch run, they were without Ryu, Marshall and Soto.

West Tenn wins their season finale. 4-1. Chris Walker, Richard Lewis, Jake Fox, Tony Richie and Carlos Rojas finish with 2 hits apiece. Brandon Sing hit a 2-run HR. JR Mathes got the complete game victory: 9 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 4 K.

Peoria lost to Beloit 2-0 in a 5-inning rain-shortened game. Valerio Heredia and Francisco Tirado were the only 2 Chiefs with hits (back-to-back singles to open the game). Santo's final line: 4 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 2 WP.

Isn't that Pie's 3rd outfield assist in the past week or so?

He has about 20 on the season.

his arm is probably the part of his game that i'm most impressed with.

Felix's final AAA numbers:

.283/.342/.452/.794 - 33 2Bs, 8 3Bs, 15 HRs, 46 BBs, 126 Ks, 17/28 SBs.

All in a hitter's league.

I wouldn't mind him starting at AAA next season, with a Kenny Lofton-type in CF at Wrigley.

and his baserunning is probably the part of his game that i'm least impressed with. pretty decent pop for a cf.

Today's assist was not pretty. Bases loaded one out bottom 8th. Short fly ball to center that Felix lost in the sun, picked up and forced runner at 2nd. He was patient his first at bat , lashed ball opposite way that left fielder made diving catch toward line. His next at bats he jumped on pitches early, flying out and then singling the next 3 at bats.

I know this is like three weeks old, but it's first I've seen of it:

Ceda, 19, is only in his second pro season. According to Oneri Fleita, the Cubs player development director, the right-hander fits the prototype of what they want in a pitcher. He has a good delivery, and the makings of becoming a good breaking-ball pitcher.

uhh, that's like the opposite of what i thought and have read that ceda is.

could it be that they are saving him for the playoffs?

I guess, if he was going to go in Game 2. I forgot to listen to the postgame show, so I guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow for word.

Boise won 8-2.
