From ESPNs chat with Jim Callis on BA:

Rick (St. Paul): What do you think of Harben for Nevin?

Jim Callis: I think that's a nice trade for the Cubs, the type they should be making more of. Harben is one of the best pitching prospects in their system now.

I think Hendry did well on the Perez and Nevin trades.

Yeah, the Perez deal was amazing. Still don't know how we pulled that one off.

I think that's what happens when you have an injury and no back ups...a little desperation. I think Infinte (sp) is a better player so Detroit definately overpayed for a backup.

Yeah, but I'm sure there is someone currently not playing in the major leagues or in their minor league system, that could do as good or better than Neifi.

I think the Todd Walker trade was easily the best, in terms of what the Cubs got back.

kottaras would have been nice, though.

perhaps the cubs can still snag him from boston for a starter like ryu or wells.

You guys had better be careful. Saying good things about bad signings Hendry has made will get you attacked around here, and justifiably so.

Fixed.

neifi and nevin were good deals. but remember hendry was fixing his own screw ups.

if you put it the real context we got harben for sammy sosa and still paid 12 mil or so for sammy.

just getting someone to take the contract of neifi was the steal but if we never sign him for his ridiculous deal...we don't need to dump him. heck if we only sign to him a one year we don't really need to dump him.
