I don't have audio, why did Ivanschitz's goal get pulled back? I presume because the side official had the flag up? But if that's it, why was the flag up? Dempsey didn't look offside in the replays I saw.

Clint was off on the original ball over the top. Marrufo waived down the AR and let play continue until the goal got scored and then consulted the AR and pulled it back. To anyone half-paying attention it looked like Marrufo disallowed it after LAG complained enough. Bad officiating.

Steven Gerrard is the only reason this LA team didn't rip through the Western conference this season. He's unbalanced their entire team and made them markedly worse.

Seattle complete lack of midfield is going to cost them this game.

The ball hit Clint from the offsides position but yeah it was bad officiating. But the right call. No idea why he called it off originally.

What a goal from Agudelo in the DC-NE game.

Just saw it. Does anyone in mls score better goals than Agudelo? He doesn't score as often as you'd like but when he does, they're bangers.

the penalties in this Sporting/Portland game, man

Sporting just hit the right and left post on the same shot and it didn't go in when that would've won the game.

EDIT: And then on the 11th round Portland's keeper scores then stones Sporting's keeper to win it. Crazy

Ellis hit the post, too, with a chance to win it. I've never seen anything like that shootout before.

Besler's attempted panenka was the worst I've ever seen.

The single greatest Mourinho post match interview today.

Steven Gerrard is dumb.

“Going on the road, playing on turf, playing at altitude, playing in humidity, those are the hurdles that I’ve had to face over the last three months that I wasn’t aware of. Every away game has a different challenge,” said Gerrard.

Every criticism of the team he makes in that interview is something he was specifically and egregiously guilty of. Especially the effort.

It took Beckham three seasons of failure for his competitive pride to kick in enough for him to take MLS seriously. Gerrard doesn't have that much time.

I like how that quote can be interpreted that Gerrard was genuinely surprised to be playing road games.

There's really no defensible angle. At best, he's a provincial rube who has no clue that there' s a world outside of Merseyside. At worst he's a dimwit who took a job without due diligence because he doesn't give a [expletive].

It astounds me how there are still guys who come here without any clue as to the challenges of playing in North America, let alone how competitive and good the standard of play actually is.

Every time some old-ass Euro player comes here and fails an angel gets its wings.

NYCFC fired Kreis. Hmm.

#1, they're idiots

#2, Kries to USMNT please

ETA: Kries got Lampard and Pirlo forced onto him and lo and behold playing two old ass CMs hurt them. Good luck with that, Patrick Viera. I'm sure his magical Eurodust will prevent them from being gassed next July.

Kreis took a year off to genuflect at the throne of City Football Group just to get fired a season in. More than the terrible DP decisions, that was the biggest red flag. Anyone who knows MLS knows that Jason knows how to manage in this league and applying European ideas without tailoring them to fit is always a mistake. Their disregard for his accomplishments in MLS was a huge, huge mistake.

Not that I'm a huge fan, but Mix isn't doing himself any favors at that club either. He's overrated but he's better than Pirlo in the deep lying playmaker role.

Mix was playing much better before Pirlo showed up. They had to jerk him around the field to accommodate Lamps and Pirlo and the team suffered for it
