This game is CONCACAF as hell.

Ok, so I watched the game last night....what does this mean?

You know how when we play great teams like Germany or Brazil and we keep 11 guys behind the ball, get really physical and generally do everything we can to disrupt their possession?

That's what every team in CONCACAF does to us except Mexico. Pretty much every team comes out of the tunnel looking to get a 0-0 draw when they play us or Mexico.

CONCACAF games, even when one team is way, way better than the other, are always difficult. Physical, fast, chaotic and sloppy in possession/passing and often come down to set pieces or waiting until one of the team scores before the other team is forced to open up. The officiating usually, some would say always, sucks. The central american teams spend more time flopping than passing and do everything they can to get under the US player's skin. It's usually pretty ugly until one team scores, regardless how much better one team is than the other.

my assumption was carnage all over the field yet just one booking, but i might be way off

It's because the ref was in miles over his head. There probably should have been a half-dozen yellows and a red on Hondo by the end. It took until like the 80th minute for the persistent infringement yellow they did get.

So Cuba is going to be without 6 players and their coach tonight vs. Mexico.

As if Mexico's group needed to be any easier.

Things did not go well for Cuba. 6-0

I caught bits of that game last night, and it didn't even look like Mexico was trying that hard.

This Honduras-Panama game is an embarrassment to CONCACAF. The officials have completely lost control in the second half.

Good news out of the game is that the U.S. can clinch the group with a win tonight.

Zusi, Mix, Johannson, Garza and Ream getting in this match against Haiti. Bradley playing back for the first time in what seems like a while.

Jozy's first touch. The loss of possession is really leaving the defense in some tough spots.

A lot of the D is on Zusi and Mix. Zardes did a really good job the other night on defense and we aren't seeing the same thing out of the mids tonight.

I'd be all for putting Morales in. A lot of the best chances are being created by Bradley when he roams forward, but he can't stray to far without exposing the defense.

Johnson, Yedlin and Zardes would also be good subs. It seems like a lot of runs are being made on the wings but the speed isn't quite at this point. The field may be a huge factor there.
