Hendry just said that they were going to do a deal for 2 "really good prospects," but when he found out Izturis was available, he obviously wanted to make the deal for Cesar. :x

I don't know about Glanville, but Simona ctually did play pretty well for the Cubs. Had an .800 + OPS.

 

Also came though with some big hits. Saying they wouldn't make the playoffs without him may be overstating things though.

Well, Prior does not have his good stuff today. Still, I have to think some of those HRs would not have made it if the wind wasn't going straight out. As long as Prior can throw the ball for the next two months without getting injured, I don't care if it takes him the full two months to regain his control. Still, there is no way I am watching the rest of this game. Seeing him pitch like this is depressing.

Yep. He said anyone who follows the game knows there's nothing wrong with the team that can't be fixed.

 

And I believe that. The problem is getting rid of himself is one of the major steps necessary to make things better.

I was the biggest Hendry supporter in the world. I loved the Aramis trade and I reveled in the Nomar deal. I supported him after they got rid of Sosa and Patterson for peanuts. I defended Hendry against every barb known to man. I had blind faith all the way up through this trade deadline. I knew that he would come through for us. He failed. My faith was misplaced and a gruesome situation has gotten worse. Now I know what it feels like to be a Republican.

I can't see fixing this team in less than three years. Serious damage has been done. Zambrano is so abused he could easily be next.
