So there is only a few more months left in the season, but lately it actually looks like the Cubs players like to play the game. It also looks like they are all trying their hardest to win every game, yes even Rameriez. At the all-star break people were saying that they were going to lose close to 100 games is that still what people think or will they play 500 ball the rest of the way or even better then that??

Too damn few!

At the current rate, looks like we'll lose enough to secure a good 2007 Lottery pick. Greg Oden (Ohio State) and Thaddeus Young (Georgia Tech) would be good fits.

Even if they do play .500 ball, they will finish 70-92, and .500 would be a significant improvement (9-10 in the "they're playing better" month of July, 4-6 since the all star break).

Dude, quit hogging your time machine! I wanna live in 2003, too!

I predict the Cubs will go 54-10 the rest of the way.

Finishing with a record of 92-70 and miss the playoffs by 1 game.

I also predicted the Cubs would be good this year too.

They will win 63 games this year, going 63-99.

This will be claimed as a great acheivement by all people involved with the Cubs, because they did not lose 100 games. Dusty will be resigned, for keeping the team together through such a tough injury plagued season, and Hendry will waste a top 5 draft pick on a football player Hendry likes for his speed and athleticism, even though he plays a different sport...

That would be funny if it weren't so likely.

Remember a couple years ago when the A's won something like 23 straight?

I bet the Cubs could lose 23 straight.

The A's won 20 straight in 2002. Scott Hatteberg hit a walk off HR in the bottom of the ninth to win the 20th game. I was there and it was unbelievable.

I believe that is the game that is detailed in "Moneyball".

That it was.
