Come on Cubs, don't let up on Glavine.

I have a confession, I've never liked Glavine. I can't explain it, but I've harbored an irrational hatred of the man for years. Maybe it's just his smug, know-it-all look, like he thinks he is the [expletive] of the walk or something...

But seriously, I've always hated the guy and I can't figure out why.

I never like him because I think Glavine's success was based on always getting the call on a pitch off the plate that is outside. This game makes me think he is about ready to do a melt down for the season.

That's why we don't want Aramis hustlying too much.

He's not fast.

Have to like the effort though, Floyd has looked awful out there all night. Itw as almost a heads up play except Floy actually got his glove on the ball on the first try.

I agree...it was a relatively close play at 2nd base and if that throw had bounced in there I think he would've been safe.

Z is at 101 pitches.... Time to take him out.. Dusty betetr not put him in... that is why you sign set up men no need to throw 130 pitches when you have a 3 run lead and your 22 games under 500

Aardsma is up in the pen, but when they showed Z in the dugout he didn't really look like he was done.

will Z pitch more?

He's been sailing along and with the way our bullpen has been I'd almost rather him go 8. He's only thrown 101 pitches...a 10-15 pitch 8th inning would be nice and then have Dempster or Aardsma come in for the 9th and hold it.

How low can Cedeno go offensively?

Say what you will about Baker, but he has shown amazing patience with Cedeno.

Everyone says that Neifi is his "boy", but Dusty has not given him any consistent playing time over Cedeno even with him slumping this badly.

Does anybody think that Cedeno reminds you of Furcal defensively? A tough time making throws sometimes, makes a lot of errors, but also makes several plays that just amaze you.

Well Cedeno has speed which Dusty seems to like, and even though he's struggled some on defense, his range and arm are still miles about Neifi IMO. Neifi is aging and Dusty realizes it; he still gets plenty of time at 2B because that's where his range fits better now.
