He's improved upon his mediocre first half, and has an OPS over 1.100 so far in July.

So what will his numbers look like at the end of the season? For reference here are his monthly OPS numbers:

April: .716

May: .791

June: .801

July: 1.122

Total: .841

Ramirez' OPS with the Cubs the last 3 years:

2003 805

2004 951

2005 926

I think he'll finish between .850 and .900 -- a good season, but a bit of a disappointment compared to the last 2 years. Ramirez is still a very good player as long as he can stay healthy.

I cant wait until he finishes with better numbers than Crede. I know he has taken a lot of criticism this year but Aram is basically doing what he has done in the past. I would say that the team that is put together with 2 guys on offense who are historically poor starters Pierre and ARam and than add the fact that another key component got hurt Lee. Than throw in the fact that the bench is not good and we are trying to work in a couple of young players it just made for a disaster. When Lee got hurt a lot was expected from a player that has never really been a first half performer.

I don't think he'll care enough to get it over .900.

I agree. I think he'll reach about 890, and say, eh, I've done enough this year. He'll realize that getting more money by opting out of his contract after a monster finish to the season just isn't worth the effort to him. And then he'll eat a baby.
