I'm gonna second that. It's like we are playing .500 or something with the approach this whole group takes. They refuse to admit how bad the team is and how poorly they've been assembled.

I don't have much faith that they'll clean house, but I do feel they will do something, at least by the trading deadline.

Our best hope might be that Hendry forces Baker to fire some coaches, and Baker instead resigns, not wanting to scapegoat his friends. But Dusty isn't the type of guy who will fall on his sword, he's resisted, but sold-out coaches before.

I'm not sure what will be done, but something will be done. I'd like to see Clines and Matthews gone, but then that would mean that Hendry would have to admit failure since he was the one who swapped Matthews for Clines. I just don't get why he had to use these four days to "evaluate" the team completely, instead of using the whole months of May and June to do it. Edited by dalgreen

Dude, how could he "evaluate" the team when Dusty didn't have his "Horses"

That was good.

Nothing will happened. The "evaluating" comment was said in a booze-induced frenzy and has been completely forgotten at this point.

What's to evaluate? WE STINK!

I thought this thread was for second half predictions, so I'm gonna post mine anyways. This is assuming that Zambrano's injury only causes him to miss 1-2 starts.

32-42

Finish 66-96

81-81 overall at the end.

I see a good second half.

100 losses.

That would be very comical actually, thats what I'm hoping for.. This team has sucked the life out of me.. I've never hated something i've loved so much. I want them to be completely embarrased.. How fitting is it that we have one of the highest paid managers in the game and one of the highest payrolls in the league, but we have the 3rd worse record..

I was about to say a few less losses, like 91, but that would take a .500 record the rest of the way, and I don't see that happening. That is hilarious, they have to play above .500 just to avoid 90 losses. A couple games under and they flirt with 95 losses. How can Hendry possibly think this is acceptable?

What I'm wondering about is what happens now that all the horses that are going to be healthy are out of the stable and the team still loses. Does Dusty blame (oh wait...Dusty doesn't blame)...err I mean, Does Dusty use the excuse (oh wait...Dusty doesn't make excuses)...ok...Does Dusty calmly explain the cause-effect relationship between Wood's injury and the team not playing well, or does he take a tire iron to Aramis Ramirez?

Make a prediction!! Don't critisize my prediction if it doesn't agree with yours.

What's wrong with you people? Wishing for 100 loses for...what again? What purpose?

You wanna see people lose their jobs, I want the Cubs just to win baseball games.

I just simply want to see this team go in a direction that would help them in 2007. If I see a Perez, Rusch and Nevins team out there starting and Guzman Theriot and Hill left in the minors then this season has almost been a completely wasted year. Cedeno, Marshall and Marmol have helped make it better and IMO...."saved" the season. Murton has been ok and I expect him to improve. The teams record is a moot point to me from here on as I just want to see growth as an organization.

I can agree with you on that.

This is a prediction thread. Not a wishing thread.

Oh in that case 81-81 total for the year.
