How many other organizations would still have Hill in AAA with the way he's pitched since his demotion while having inept pitching at the Major League level? I don't care how bad he was in his last time up. The man deserves to be on the big club and should be given a real chance.

I'm not the biggest Rich Hill backer but he does deserve a real chance to make this club. Bring him up and pitch him the rest of the season. I have a feeling Maddux is going to be traded if that happens they better start Rich Hill and not Rusch!

The AZL Brewers are blowing away Mesa 8-0 in the 4th. Oscar Bernard gave up 5 Rs (2 ER) in 2 innings. Rafael Dolis followed with 3 unearned runs in 0.2 innings (AND 5 walks, but 0 hits...yeesh).

The only hits from Mesa so far are from Cory Vanderhook (a double) and Valerio Heredia.

His ERA drops to 1.81 on the AAA season. That was just the 2nd HR he has given up at AAA.

His AAA performance easily surpasses Guzman and Marmol who have surpassed him in the Cubs plans. What would be the harm in slotting him in the rotation from now until September just to see how he handles an elongated look. My guess is he'd perform at least as well as Marshall has this season.

Luther Murphy gets Mesa their 3rd hit of the day (a single).

In return, the Brewers score 2 more. Mesa now down 10-0 in the 6th.

Wow, it's a cool day out in Mesa. Game time temps at 10:30 was 88!

Iowa won 2-1! I-Cubs scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th on an RBI single by Theriot, which scored Ojeda. Deardorff was able to score from 1st on an error by the New Orleans CF. Aardsma pitched the 8th, only allowing a walk, and Ligtenberg pitched the 9th, only allowing 1 hit. Hill is now 6-1 on the season in AAA.
