I am visiting Chicago this week from Rochester, NY and I've never been to Wrigley to see the Cubs. I was wondering if someone can give me the best way to get to Wrigley from Union station. I will be taking the Metra into the city. Thanks! Jeff

Walk east on Jackson until you get directly under the "L", then walk north (i.e., take a left) under the "L" until you reach an entrance for a Brown Line station (Quincy / Wells is the name). Go up, be sure to be on the west platform (closest to Union station) and get on a Brown Line train.

Have fun!

Or exit vie Jackson St. and head East (in the direction of traffic). Go past the overhead El tracks until you see a subway sign for the Red Line. Head downstairs and take the Red Line train north to Addison. It will be pretty clear where to go from there :D

EDIT: Dang you Fred!

This is the goods here. Don't forget to transfer at Fullerton or Belmont to the Redline. Get off at Addison. If you miss it, take the Brown line to Southport take a right coming out of the station and then another right on Waveland.

When transferring to the Red Line at Fullerton or Belmont, remember to get on a northbound train to Howard. Do not get on the 95th/Dan Ryan train, or else you will be going south and in the wrong direction!

Addison is two stops from Fullerton and one stop from Belmont, just so you know. Your train ride will take a really short amount of time.

Indeed. Either follow other Cubs fans (There should be some) or make sure the train is heading in the same direction as the one you get off of.

I would keep walking on Jackson and stop at Giordano's before I got on the train.

If it were me, I'd walk east on Jackson to State St and walk down the stairs to the Red Line subway and take a northbound train to Addison St.

This is the best, IMO. You have to walk a few more blocks down Jackson, but you do not need to transfer, and you will likely get a seat on the subway.

That shouldn't be a problem. Both Fullerton and Belmont are double-platform stations. As long as you stay on the platform you get off of, and don't walk down into the station and back up onto the other platform to take the red line, you'll get on the correct red line train.

Also, the wait at Fullerton and Belmont for a Red Line train is very, very short. Don't bother walking extra in at first to get to a red line train in order to not have to transfer.

Well my son and I had a great time at Wrigley despite them losing! This is truley a special place for baseball fans. I've been to many parks but Wrigley and the Cubs are where it's at. We only have a triple A team here in Rochester although they are not the majors we get to see some of the up and coming stars and even some current stars in rehab. Keep supporting those Cubs, you don't know what you've got until it's gone! Thanks for the help getting to the station, it was easy to get to from the red line and we even ate at Giordano's on the way back. Getting harrassed by some diehard Sox fans on the Red line made my day! Chicago is awesome, Thanks again!

Has the Redline been really slow going for anyone else this year? Every single time I've taken it this year, there has been workers on the track and delays and instead of taking 15ish minutes it takes about half hour. And its really hot and cramped and I hate it. I hate the Redline. The Last game I went to I just took the brown line and walked to wrigley from the Belmont stop.

It's been sucking around Belmont recently.
