The Yankees and their fans can kiss my arse. Jeter is a punk and their fan base is a bunch of classless losers.

And yet you exude pure class.

Is there seriously a community big enough, and willing to devote a large enough portion of their time to just bashing the yankees to make this site necessary? What would be considered trolling? Posts like "go yanks"

Would the transactions forum be filled with posts about "i think cashman should trade A-Rod for Macias"?

I'm always confused about this sort of thing.

I live in New Jersey. I think there is. I'm not one of them though.

I find the older I get, the less I hate the Yankees, Cardinals, Astros & White Sox. Maybe I'm mellowing with age. It just seems so pointless to actually flaunt hatred that is really thinly disguised jealousy. Let's face it ... if the Yanks didn't win all the titles they have, fewer people would hate 'em.

What I really hate is losing. Al Davis said it best, "Just win baby." I still despise the White Sox, but I have a weird combo of repulsion/admiration/jealousy too after winning the WS last year and 20 games over so far this year.

I find that these days I care far less about those other teams I used to hate. Instead, I spend most of my time in disgust at Dusty, Hendry, MacPhail and Co.

To me maybe it's not soley the way they play baseball. Their "fans" are arrogant and obnoxious and many no little about baseball. I would almost be willing to bet that half of the population that wears a Yankees cap doesn't know what the logo stands for and/or can't name one player on the team.

^yes, I am implying that "Daddy Yankee" knows little about the Yankees

And while we're on the subject of baseball-cap-bearing rappers:

Hey Lil Jon, your Braves are in the cellar of the NL East.... what? you haven't heard?

I don't like seeing so many Yankees hats in the UK. But that balances out when I see the street-cleaner wearing an As hat, or the guy who goes to Town games and occasionally wears a Reds hat.

I prefer to think good of the good guys than bad of the indifferent ones.

This is an awful big generalization. I'm sure there are just as many "knowledgeable" fans of the Yankees as there are of the Cubs.

Big deal! The Cubs are one of the worst teams in baseball, but if I want to wear my Cubs hat, jersey, etc. when I go out in public, I have that right.

About the Yankees fans: You don't see rappers wearing Cubs hats regularly.... its always YANKEES YANKEES YANKEES. And the person wearing the cap know NOTHING about the team yet the team wins so "its cool". The Yankees have the biggest bandwagon fanbase of any MLB team. Maybe not all the fans, but a nig amount.

The rappers that wear baseball hats aren't usually wearing them to represent the team it's mostly fashion statements. New Era is huge right now, go look at some of their hats, i'd say over 50% of their baseball hat designs aren't designed for baseball fans. People wear Yankees hats for the NY, people wear Atlanta hats for Atlanta most of it has nothing with the sport and no most probably don't know much or anything about baseball and they probably don't claim to... I really don't see a big deal.

Here's an example

do you really think that New Era had hot dogs and peanuts baseball fans in mind when they designed that.

Back in 1990, EVERY rapper from the West Coast wore Raiders and Kings gear. Now they wear stuff from the city they are from (Atlanta, St. Louis, etc.)

The reason you don't see rappers wearing Cubs stuff is because VERY few big name rappers are from Chicago. Kanye West, uh, and another one maybe

And West would where WS stuff, simply for the black and white and for them winning the WS.
