Walker has been out of the lineup because a deal is close to being finalized. Walker for Enrique Wilson. Wilson is more of the ideal player that Hendry and Dusty would like to see playing for the Cubs. He hardly ever clogs up the bases.

I didn't know we could make trades with the independent leagues.

Enrique's in the Red Sox system. Currently sucking at AAA.

So we have a shot? :D

Did Perez bat RH last night? I didnt notice. I am guessing not. What really blew my mind was not only did Perez start and bat 2nd, Dusty thought so little of him he pinch hit for him in a key spot later in the game. Is his defense that superior at 2nd!!! I cannot believe how stupid all this logic seems. Just for my understanding what were Perez's career #s against Oswalt before last night. Just for comparision what were Walkers and Womacks, If someone has those #s, I dont want anyone to go thru the trouble of looking them up for me if not.

I think Neifi was batting around .380 while Walker was batting around .210. That's off the top of my head

Here it is...

“Neifi and Michael (Barrett, 6-for-17) are really the only two guys who have hit Oswalt in our lineup,” Baker said. “Plus, Oswalt is better against left-handers than he is right-handers.”

Perez went 0-for-3 Wednesday against Oswalt.

Dusty actually said that? I'm impressed

well, it's not like dusty put walker in for neifi or anything. of course he put in his second favorite toy, wonderboy, instead of one of the best hitters on the team.

I hope Todd Walker gets trading by the deadline at the end of July. Not because I don't like him, or because he's a good hitter but for his sake. He's gotta be frustrated about his playing time, but hasn't made any waves about it. I hope he gets dealt to a contender so he can actually contribute to a winning tream down the stretch.

Until of course Neifi got up there and hit left-handed...

BRILLIANT!!

That's because Baker was nervous that Oswalt might throw left handed and he was prepared by throwing the switch hitting guru Perez in there. You never know when a pitcher might decide that to switch what arm he uses to pitch with. That Dusty is one deep thinker.

Considering the interest in him this offseason, I doubt he'd get much of a chance to contribute if traded. (Which speaks to the complete stupidity of all baseball front office personnel.)

During the middle of the season, there is at least an opportunity to realize they are not adequate at 2B. Whether its because of injuries, ineffectiveness, or both, some team probably could use him.

Potential playoff teams that could use Walker's bat at second:

Oakland

San Francisco

Mets (This seems most likely)

Oswalt is better against lefties, so I put in Neifi, who switch hits, but batted lefty, even though he could've batted righty and had a statistical advantage.

My head just exploded.

You just can't make up stuff like this. I have to laugh....really, I need to laugh because the alternative isn't worth it.
