I may be making a trip on Thursday to see the Mississippi Braves take on the Jacksonville Suns (Dodgers).

 

Who on those teams are top prospects for their organizations or who bear watching?

i'm far from an expert, but...

 

mississippi's got saltalamacchia, who is one of the best catching prospects in baseball. yunel escobar is also fairly well-regarded.

 

jacksonville was a loaded last year, not as much this year. ss chin-lung hu is probably the best prospect on that team. orenduff's a decent pitching prospect. and greenberg, of course!

Nah...I've already gotten Salty's auto though.

 

I want to be able to take my nephew, and I haven't worked out a good time. When I went to see the DJaxx, it was during school and since it's about 90 miles away, he would've gotten home too late.

It was a fun game. Greenberg went 2-4 with a homerun. I got to speak to him before the game and he's hitting pretty good for the Suns right now.

 

As far as autographs, I got Hu and Abreu. And I also got an autograph of former major leaguer, Danny Darwin.

 

My nephew had a ball signed by about 15 of the Suns and caught a foul ball off the bat of Salty.

 

It was a fun night.
