So just how popular is Murton?

I don't know if we are allowed to mention the names of certain businesses selling Cubs merchandise or not. Let's just say I have dealt with one that is not the store at Cubs.com.

Anyway, I have noticed that they carry certain player jerseys in stock, with really short shipping times. This includes those versions with the player names. Much better prices too.

I was going to order Marshall's jersey, but they don't offer those as ready to go, yet; and maybe getting his would be premature anyway. Instead I decided on Murton's.

Do you suppose that Murton must have gotten to be really popular, or am I reading to much into this?

If the last sentence of your post is what you want to know, then you may want to rename the post.

At any rate, I think Murton is gaining a large swell of support from alot of fans. There's no question he's recognizeable and talented, despite a recent swoon. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a demand for Murton jerseys these days.

Done as you suggested.

I agree about Merton's popularity.

Regarding some other players, such as Novoa, a google search should locate other suppliers besides the mlb.com store. They may be able to get one made up for you quickly. If enough people ask, they will eventually have them pre-made.

I think Murton is a great addition to the team. He proved in April and May that he can get hits under pressure. I like to see him at bat in desperate situations. Plus his orange hair makes my son LOL. He says people with orange hair are mean...but he's 6 WTF does he know.

I have a Murton T-shirt jersey.
Where'd you get it?

This place has his jersey, but I think that link given above refers to a place that could make whichever t-shirt you wanted, at pretty reasonable prices too.

I got mine at the store at Clark and Addison. Directly acroos Addison from the Marque.

I really like Murton and I want to see him succeed, but I would take issue with the assertion that Murton has demonstrated an ability to get hits under pressure. He's driven in 17.4% of the runners on base when he bats compared to the team average of 19.4%. Some of his splits.....

I wonder if his average goes down because the infielders go to DP depth with a man on first?

Derwood - just for you...

** you'll have to trust me here - I created a really cool t-shirt on zazzle.com, but I was a bonehead because the picture was copyrighted. zazzle pulled my design** #-o

I should know better.

I like him!

I am waiting to bring back the Matt-O-Meter sign to the bleachers (had it the last Saturday game last year) - he needs to be over .300

Do you remember Eric Karros in 2003 before his 3-run homer off of Juan Acevedo in 2nd game against the Yanks? He was HORRIBLE - the only time he could get a hit was against a lefty with no one on base.

I remember vividly when he came up in the 7th, I was convinced he was going to K and went to the bathroom..........then I heard a VERY loud roar.

I am NOT comparing Murton to Karros - I just have crazy thoughts jump into my sick head.
