I was driving home today and was listening to a Giants talk show and they brought up ways to improve the team offensively. The most obvious spot that the guy on the radio brought up was second base. So with the Giants just 2 games out of first in the basically up for grabs NL West, why not Walker to the Giants? If the Cubs do decide to sell Walker would likely go considering he is a FA and the Cubs already tried to trade him in the offseason. I don't know a lot about farm systems, but does anybody know if there are any good young players the Cubs could get in return if this trade was pulled off?

I don't think it would work, and for two reasons...first, from our end, we'd be down to like only 5 2bmen. From their end, he's not old enough for their club. :D

Walker and Rich Hill for Bonds + roids for the whole team

I only want Bonds if he joins Hoffa within 3 days of his arrival.

Fred Lewis-of, Craig Whitaker-rhp, or Kevin Frandsen-ss/2b are three kids the Cubs could realistically asked for, and possibly get, especailly considering it is "Loose" Brian Sabean still as Gm. But since these are the Cubs, I suspect in any trade scenerio with the Giants, they'd end up with Jason Ellison, or some Nefti Perez clone.

I wouldn't mind Lewis, but he looks like a Matt Murton clone. Right now at AAA he has a .400+ OBP (40 BB in only 173 ABs) but his slugging is about even with his OBP ( 15 XBH). Frandsen has some pretty good numbers at AAA right now (.394/.473/.867), but I'd probably just rather keep Walker. Lewis, Frandsen, and Whitaker are 8,9, and 10 on the Giants prospect list by BA.

The prospect I think I would target most on the Giants is LHP, Jonathan Sanchez. At AA he has a 1.15 ERA, 46K/9BB in 31 innings. He's also yet to give up a homer and oppponents are hitting only .137 against him. He's started only 3 games this year in 13 appearances so I'm not sure if he projects to be a starter or a reliever. I'm not crazy about him, but outside of Matt Cain, the Giants don't really have much to offer. Brad Hennessey wouldn't be a bad guy to acquire as a 5th starter for next year either.
