Dusty...it's pouring rain and Z has been overworked in the past month.

Please for the love of all that is holy take Z down after this inning.

I vote for lettting him stay in to get the shutout. He'll likely be under 100 pitches going to the 9th.

Quinton McCracken is still in baseball? Wow.

hes got almost 100 plus now?!

I just realized that the game was only in the bottom of the 7th. I thought it was the 8th inning. Haha, you probably thought I was nuts for suggesting that Z finish the game when he was above 90 pitches in the 7th inning!

As he walked back to the dugout, he started hitting himself in the head with his right hand, then pointing to his brain while screaming and cussing at himself.

I believe he was trying to kill his brain.

At redszone.com they are beside themselves in the gamethread.

They are arguing whether they should have brought their closer Coffey in or not against Barrett.

And they are upset about to losing to the "Royals errrr Cubs"

Pierre is terrible an why is Z batting? Is he coming in for ther 8th? Why?

Because Dusty Baker is a stupid, stupid man.

More from redszone.com..................

"I wish someone on the Reds staff would put one right in Zambrano's ear hole when he bats....lets see if he bit's that upper lip and pumps that fist...he is bush league. Needs an attitude adjustment bigtime."

Just get home, do the happy dance over the grand slam and Z's great game (well, aside from the walks)...and then my jaw drops through the floor seeing Z come out to bat. 7 innings, 4 run lead or he's pitched 109 pitches...short of Z himself threatening serious bodily harm to anyone who pulls him out, there's no excuse for this.

Okay, despite what I said earlier about letting him get the shutout (when I thought we were an inning ahead), sending him back out there now is a bad idea. He had control issues in the previous inning and he's at 110. Use that good bullpen, Dusty!

Whoever it was that asked about this..... take it with a grain of salt, because in those instances when the game was on WGN and ESPN, I had to chose one or the other.

CUBS are 4-21 when WGN broadcasts the game
CUBS are 15-8 when CSN broadcasts the game
CUBS are 1-2 when FOX broadcasts the game
CUBS are 2-2 when ESPN broadcasts the game
CUBS are 1-1 when WCIU broadcasts the game
CUBS are 1-2 when CSN+ broadcasts the game
