Ehh, attempted the WGN, but was quickly locked.

Roy Oswalt BandWGN?

Oh well, its the thought that counts.

I hope anything with Oswalt crashes and burns and destroys all who ride it.

I hate him to, but if one win for him means that Fat Glen gets DFA'd, Im all for it.

I will never root for the Astros, much less Oswalt, even if [expletive] fate hung in the balance.

May this BandWGN crash and burn destroying all who sell their soul to its creation.

I don't root against Rusch, but I have become so pessimistic when he pitches that I just expect total and unconditional futility. Every out he gets is like a win.

With Guzman back up, Dusty simply MUST start him instead of Rusch. Starting Rusch is in effect forfeiting the game that could give the Cubs their first four-game winning streak of the year. They're on a bit of a roll now; you simply don't derail that by starting Rusch.

Marshall pitches Tuesday for the 4 game streak. Glendon is scheduled for Wednesday against Oswalt. Gee, I wonder how that will turn out? :(

Barrett starts a fight with Oswalt in the top 2nd inning, both players are tossed. Rusch beans berkman in the bottom of the 2rd, both are tossed. guzman pitches the rest of the game and gives up 3 runs, hank white hits a gw grandslam in the top of the 9th.

but i could be wrong

The Astros would be batting in the top of the 9th.

Hahaha I love how that's the only thing you found wrong with that scenario. As if the rest (including lack of capital letters) did not indicate that I was inebriated when that was written

Rusch came over to Chicago for the 2004 season and inexplicably pitched "reasonably" well for us. A smart, crafty GM would have looked at Rusch's 2004 results, compared them to his past averages and realized he had someone who performed above expectations and that the odds were STRONGLY in favor of Glendon reverting back to his form of giving up tons of hits - especially HR's.

I've said it before and I'll say it again now - the Cubs have a terrible tendancy to pick up "has beens", injured "project" guys, journeymen players etc... and if they're lucky enough that one of them plays over his head and increases his value, instead of trading them we have this silly belief that they've "turned a corner" or all of a sudden become star quality players and we sign them up expecting them to keep performing at that level. Inevitably they revert back to what they used to be and we end up releasing them and getting nothing for them.

This organization really needs to have some people in charge who know how to evaluate talent and understand the concept of selling high and buying low.

Really good point. Jocketty does this very well - he brings in scrubs, gets a year or two out of them that totally belies their career avgs., then casts them off and replaces them b/c they become overpriced and overvalued.
