bad news guys i'm now like 1-17 in game threads and last night was surely a fluke.

anyways, this will be the dusty baker classic crap lineup after a tough night game, so since we know we're going to get obliterated, let's have some fun in the process at least

here's glendon rusch vs. the cards

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/rocketsaucetd/ruschvscards.jpg

pujols and rolen kind of own him. but that's ok, because rusch sucks.

here's our cubs against mark mulder

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/rocketsaucetd/muldervscubs.jpg

well too [expletive] bad derrek lee is hurt and barrett likely doesn't catch the game, because after those 2, it doesn't look pretty.

anyways i just wanna say it was a pleasure finally winning a game thread game, too bad 2 in a row just ain't gonna happen.

go cubs.

Ooo Ooo Oooo

I know why Rocket won yesterday.

There was a hole ripped into the space/time continuum by the folks at Ohio St. They finally put away their coloring books long enough to figure out how Australia got seperated from the original main continent by using some complex math type calculations. Obviously their teachers were imported from either the Big Blue, the Big Red, or the Big Purple. A Big Bang

So right there, BANG! The whole universe just about inverted into itself, stupified at the reality of the Buckeyes actually providing some sort of useful knowledge to the world.

I am pretty sure that it was a one time only deal, so we should never have to worry about it again. Back to being Felony St of the Big 10 for the Clarett dolls, and a Big GO Wisky!

Fred, do you have all this programmed into an Excel spreadsheet? Regardless, I still have trouble trying to "parse" all those numbers. Any recommendations about something to read to help promote understtanding?

Anyway, re today's game: I'll probably end up napping through part of it after being up so late. During what inning will Rusch put me to sleep?

Go Cubs!

Actually, I'm using Lotus. Excel is so...... well..... it's Microsoft, eh?

Not sure what you're asking here with respect to understanding. If there's something specific here that you don't grasp, ask me and I'll try to explain. If it's just generally information overload.... well, that's kind of the point of the exercise. There probably is no cure for that.

GEAUX CUBBIES!!!!!!!

is wisconsin still partying over that ladies field hockey championship or whatever it was?

CUBS are on a pace to score 633 runs this year..... compared to 703 last year

I'm lovin' the flood of info, although I wish it contained better news.

One of the more chewable bits of data is the one quoted above. As of this a.m. the only team scoring fewer runs in the majors is KC:

26 Florida 238

27 Tampa Bay 232

28 Colorado 224 (How 'bout them moist balls?)

29 Cubs 207

30 KC Masterpiece 200

Denny Neagle said they got him kicked off the team.

The good news is ..... things are gettting better. It wasn't too long ago we were on a pace to score 588 runs on the season. We have scored 40 runs in our last 7 games, or 5.71 R/G. Let's hope the offensive juggernaut continues !!

Oh god. Glendon is gonna suck tonight and Pujols is gonna have like 30 bajillion home runs. This is gonna be a slaughter.

Cubs pitchers tonight:

Rusch, Williamson, Novoa, Ohman.

There is almost no way we win this game.

GO CUBS.
