Because he will never be a lead off man,the Cubs have a great habit of trying to make a player do what they want, instead of what he is capable of doing.

So what is Pie's ideal position in the batting order?

I would normally say 7 th,but with our present group he would be leading off the third.Seriously ,he is stipid or he has developed the CP syndrome due to the pathetic coaching, how many other teams would trade their number 1 prospect for Felix?

I thought I read that Pie was working on his plate discpline, and has started to slump a little since. The guy's 21 years old, in AAA, and producing decently for a CF'er. Before this year he only had half a season above A ball , so I think we can be a little patient with him.

He seems to be working specifically on going deep into counts. He's struck out looking a ton the last couple of weeks, and walked more. We should wait it out--he can only get better for it if he's allowed to work through it.

Agreed. I don't see a point in bringing him up this year at only 21. Let's give him most of a year at AAA to see how he develops down there first.o

If he works at it he could certainly gain the capability to have an ideal OBP for leadoff he also has the raw ability that may allow him to hit for power making him a great 3-5...

With this current group of idiots around tho hes automatically a 1-2 because of speed.

I see him being a 5 or 6 hitter in the big leagues. I'm hoping he gets put in the 7th or 8th spot when he finally gets the call. Of course if Dusty is still the coach, we'll probably see Pie batting leadoff. He's super fast dude.

I almost want him to finish this whole season at AAA, and then maybe get called up in July of next year.

That might well be the best long term strategy, IMHO.
