3b Chavez and 2b Ellis both left today's game with KC. Both are going to have X-Rays tomorrow with hand and wrist problems.

Any chance we could convince Billy B to take Neifi or Bynum off our hands for free? He would be a perfect fit.

It would be funny to trade him Bynum since thats where he came from

I doubt they'd trade for Bynum considering they just dumped him off on us in March.

And how do I put this nicely....Neifi Perez doesn't really fit into the organiztional philosophy that Billy Beane plans for. Fast guy who has above average range and doesn't get on base.

Fast or fat guy? I don't see Perez as fast.

You wouldn't say he at least has above average speed?

ellis and chavez got hurt last night, not today.

chavez was back in the lineup today and he tripled.

ellis appears to have a broken thumb, though, so that's fun.

I'd say average but you may be right.

Beane is likely smart enough to realize Todd Walker's value. We're likely dumb enough to trade them Walker for Antonio Perez.

I have to assume that Perez is a toolsy type dude.

Surely Oakland has some 35 year old guy the Cubs can pick up instead.

We just took the Rangers' DH, why not Oakland's? (Thomas)

Imagine that? I just hope Johnny B uses Nevin correctly but I'm not going to hold my breath.

One can only dream. Jim Hendry please make it happen!

Well Kurt Suzuki has been struggling up until recently in AA; maybe we can get Beane drunk and trade Walker for Suzuki straight up? I know we've got a bit of a traffic jam at C, but I believe that before that draft it was mentioned that he might have to move out from behind the plate anyways.

Actually they dumped him off on Texas, who then traded him to us for Koronka. I agree with your point, though; if they were willing to give him away in Spring Training, nothing about his performance with the Cubs would make them interested in trading for him now.

He's a (somewhat) unproductive veteren. Dusty will use him a good amount.
