Where is Zambrano on that play?

 

Ground ball towards 1st/2nd pitcher goes towards 1st. Once he saw that the play was contained he should have gone to third.

 

Z should know that there is a switch on and that there are 3 infielders on the right side of the field.

 

True but pitchers are trained over and over again to slide to the right side when there's a grounder there.

 

Professional players should be able to use their brains and realize that there was no reason to go to first base. I don't care if Z goes to home or to third but there is no reason he should go to first base. Sure they are trained to run to first, but you have to realize the situation.

Juan Pierre's one strength is the ability to steal. So why not let Neifi bunt while Pierre gets a good jump. You rule, Neifi.

 

On the rare occasion that Cpatt got on base last year, neifi did the same thing

Yes, this would be nice if it were true but this team has been poor fundamentally for a long time.
