Whatever they want- Time to pull Mr Wilson up from our AAAA affiliate. .288/.369/.908 this year, .270/.364/.856 career would look mighty nice at 1b and platooning in RF.

This is definitely the right answer -- let's get him before The Mayor goes back on the DL.

Trade for Wilson and extend him, and steal Church from Harrisburg while we're at it. Now we have Murton and Jones to use to possibly get some pitching for next year if we're faced with an exodus of half our rotation.

Wilson at 1B, Cabrera in RF, murton jacque platoon? is that what u guys want? Lee is back in 2 weeks. I understand Cabrera in LF, Wilson platooning with Jones, but hten u gotta trade murton.

Why are people still wanting to add something to this team? The Cubs shouldn't be trading prospects for a free agent at the end of this year. I understand some of you want him re-signed, but the Cubs could and should do a lot better, given a $100M payroll. Wilson has solid career numbers, but most of them have been amassed in part-time duty. His only 310+ AB seasons have led to an .808 and .792 OPS.

Year Age PA's OPS
2001 24 183 .979
2002 25 424 .798
2003 26 358 .871
2004 27 644 .853
2005 28 238 .808
2006 29 179 .901

This year he's on pace for 550-600 PA's.

Because too many people starting for this team are disgustingly awful, and Craig Wilson is good and would be worth picking up now AND signing to keep on. I'll take him over anyone we have in the OF right now, and most of the infield, too.

How would we get Cabrera?!

Trade the entire organization for him. I'd probably do that too... I think he's worth more than every player in the Cub organization, collectively.

Can Jones play CF?

Jones would be an offensive asset as a CF, especially since Pierre is hitting so well...but then who would bat leadoff?!

Does it matter? Nobody is right now.

In all seriousness, the answer to this is as easy as it is sad, Womack.

Crazy thought: Did picking Womack off the trash heap make Pierre expendable in a deal?

I would like to believe his inept play made him expendable.

That and he could conceivably end up with a contract near 10M per this offseason.

Yeah, I meant it from Hendry's "Need a fast leadoff guy no matter what" perspective.
