I really don't know what's more pathetic, the Cubs fans obsession with claiming that Pujols isn't his listed age, or the Cards fans obsession with trying to prove that Pujols is a good guy and all Cubs fans must admit it.

Who cares? Cubs fans hate to see Pujols do well because he plays for the Cardinals. The Cubs have 20 wins and are already 13.5 games back. Does there really need to be any further investigation into this?

Well, considering there's not an ounce of evidence that Pujols isn't his listed age, and there are mountains of evidence that he's a good guy............. it seems pretty obvious which one is more pathetic.

Thanks for furthering my point.

He is a US citizen.

I didn't know one way or another, but I definately knew that he has had to produce a birth certificate to travel back and forth.

WELL THEN WHERE IS IT? EVERYONE ELSE'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS EASILY AVAILABLE AND ACCESSABLE, WHY DON'T YOU PRODUCE ALBERT'S?

Give us a link to Roger Clemens' birth certificate. And Barry Bonds. And Derrek Lee.

Pujols is a prominent member of a Baptist Temple in Kansas City.

Pujols likes to tell everyone that he is a devout follower.

Pujols likes to tell everyone how much money he gives to his Baptist Temple.

Baptists do not condone the use of alcohol.

But the new St. Louis eatery has applied for a liquor license.

But how can this be? Pujols name is on the front.

A liquor license, with a double shot of irony.

No news if there will be a 'Juice Bar' too.

Thank you, Devout One.

Baptists do, however, condone making money, which installing a bar in the restaurant would help do.

Everyone in this thread needs to cut the personal attacks. If you don't like an opinion, fine. Feel free to explain where that opinion has gone awry. But personal attacks are not tolerated. Consider this a warning to everyone. Next step is locking the thread.

Oops..at least you are consistent. And Bernie Miklacz is a good fiction writer and mixes the Cardinal Kool-Aid real good.

Yeah, you're right.

Bernie faults Pujols for defending Bonds

Bernie cautions the hype of Pujols on a record-breaking pace, noting it's only May

Bernie, for 18th time during the year, rips ownership for being cheap

So, again... you're right. Bernie is all Kool-Aid. Nary an adverse word out of his mouth.

Pujols travels to the Dominican Republic every offseason. For anybody to travel there or any other island in the Caribbean they need to have a birth certificate or a passport which also requires a birth certeficate to get. Therefore Pujols has provided a birth certificate before to the proper authority. Just because he hasn't knocked on your door and personally shown it to you doesn't mean that other people haven't seen it.

My wife's birth certificate says she was born on July 11th, 1980. It's not even close to accurate. The idea that any government identification document from a third world country can be relied upon is stupid.

Pujols looks old. Older than, say, me, despite his younger age. It's no shock that someone born in a country with a horribly corrupt government who looks a decade older than his claimed age isn't believed.

edit: frankly, I don't see what the big deal is. If he's older, the cardinals signed him to a contract that he'll be declining by the end of. It doesn't affect the Cubs at all except in making the Cards more likely to sign/have signed a bad contract. Presumably that's a good thing. If he's his stated age, he's a double freak and congrats cards fans. He's the best. Hopefully not for long

The problem is that most talking heads talk about how he can be the greatest player of all time because of how young he is. If he's really 3-5 years older, that puts him right in his prime instead of a few years away from reaching his peak, thus nullifying the argument. He's really good either way, but at his alleged age it's unreal. That's why it's a big deal that he be exposed as older than he claims.
