They've been losing outfielders like crazy as well as a relief pitcher (Sturtze), and they have issues with their starters as well. I know little about their team or especially their minor leagues although I've heard it's been pretty depleted in the last few years.

That said, do you think they may be potential trade partners with the Cubs by the All Star break if our guys don't get their acts together? For those of you who know alot more about players than I do, are there any trade options you think are workable that could help us for 2007 and beyond?

Thanks

Nothing interesting really. I don't think they match up with the Cubs for a trade.

You're right. There isn't a match. The players on the Yankees draw too many walks. Not sure how good they are at laying down a bunt.

We should trade them Tony Womack. He can play the outfield. He can pinch hit. He can pinch run.

Womack is just a good catcher of the ball. He's a gamer. He's got speed. We should keep him.

If the Cubs can somehow con them out of one of the good pitchers they got in the 2004 draft, I'd be fine with it.

they might have some interest in a guy like Scott Williamson if throws well , along with a maybe Jones if they get desperate.

If they want Williamson or Jones, we ought to make them take Rusch, Perez, or Bynum.

Wonder what package it would take from us to get Robinson Cano. If in a few weeks we're really tanking and it's looking like it's time to just throw in the towel and build for next year, i'd imagine a package that starts with Todd Walker and Scott Williamson might get us somewhere.

They'd kill to have Maddux or Wood.

yea, but both have no trade clauses (i think) and would probably ask for extensions, which the Yanks might not want to do.

Edit: Wood has no trade. Maddux does not.

They can have any combo of Jones, Walker, Williamson or Maddux for Cano. I'd do it.

Mark Prior for Robinson Cano is a great deal for both teams.

John Kruk....

Kruk is under the impression that Cano will win a batting title some day.

Why, I have no idea.
