I know a lot of people here are already familiar with this great site, but I just wanted to give a heads up that the Cubs "star" in the latest update, but once that strip goes into the archive, everyone would have missed the message on the main page...

 

Oddly enough, we've gotten a lot of requests for more Dugouts about how bad the Cubs are, which is hard, unless you guys seriously want me to come up with new things to fall on/be fallen onto by Mark Prior. Well, it isn't TOO hard, because it's the Cubs, but I didn't want to do the same old same old.

 

That's when I noticed the game announcers running through their "breast cancer awareness" script like it was completely trivial, then spending two minutes talking about how they had dinner with the GM or something. Then I noticed that MLB's Breast Cancer Awareness website was located on the fan forum of the Pirates' site. Seriously, click that link down below.

 

If not happy with today's Dugout, imagine: Kerry Wood stepping onto a landmine.

I'm surprised they missed the oh-so-obvious "[expletive]" angle.

 

Sorry if there's a Dugout thread already...I searched and found some mentions of the site, but that was about it.

I was one of the many who requested they do another Cubs dugout. I was hoping they would blame Mario Mendoza for the hitting or something, but oh well...

Well, you're only getting 2nd best at the most if Farnsworth isn't there.

i liked it, for the most part

 

i just don't see why we need a new thread every time the cubs are mentioned in a new strip - or why every post about it needs to turn into a "this is my favorite one!" thread

Agreed. For example, everything Farnsworth says in this one is better than anything in today's chat.

 

Farnsworth is amazing, but Jim Thome has his moments too.

 

I particularly enjoy some of the ones chronicling Wood+Prior's injury adventures, one of them ended with Wood cutting off his own arm by accident.

 

Oh man those guys crack me up. :lol:
