I really wanted to go see Marmol pitch today, but I have a doctor's appointment.

You really have your priorities out of whack!

Well, I've been really tempted to cancel the doctor's appointment, but I've had off and on headaches for three weeks now, so I think it's time to visit the doctor.

I had a blast at the game last night and Marmol did sign two pictures before the game for me.

And I must say, if there's a nicer guy that Micah Hoffpauir, I've never met him.

I like Johnston's potential. Hopefully he can get back to form in a hurry!

According to PeoriaChiefs.com, Johnston has been activated off the 7-day DL and placed Morgan on the 7-day DL with a strained left calf.

PEORIA, IL— The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have announced that shortstop Dylan Johnston has been activated from the 7-day disabled while catcher Justin Morgan will go on the 7-day disabled list with a strained left calf. Johnston is in tonight’s lineup batting second and playing shortstop.

Johnston went on the DL on April 25th in Dayton after injuring his left thumb in the Chiefs homestand finale against Burlington the previous night. He has missed the last 12 games in which the Chiefs went 8-4 and moved into a tie for first place in the Western Division. In 17 games, Johnston is batting .273 with a team high six stolen bases, two doubles, two triples and two RBI.

Morgan, one of three catchers on the Chiefs roster, has appeared in three games and is 1-for-7 at the plate with a double and a .143 average. Morgan has thrown out 1-of-5 would be base stealers and last started a game in Dayton on April 25th.

The first-place Chiefs (17-13) kick off an eight game road trip in the state of Indiana tonight at 5:00 PM (Central Time) against the Fort Wayne Wizards (14-14). LH Donnie Veal (2-2) will be on the mound against RH Grant Varnell of the Wizards. After four games in Fort Wayne, the Chiefs move west to take on the South Bend Silver Hawks (13-17) for four games from May 12-15. The Silver Hawks are the defending Midwest League Champions. Peoria returns home for an eight game homestand Tuesday May 16th with a 6:30 PM start against the West Michigan Whitecaps.

He's like the Anti-Bonds.

Thanks vance_the_cubs. That is such a nice compliment. I couldn't agree more! :D

And the nice guy can hit! 8 home runs already!!!

I really like the Riot, but why not also call up Hoffpauir? I think he would better meet the Cubs needs right now than Theriot, for he might provide some pop. Walker could be moved back to second and Micah could start at first.

Surprise, surprise.

BTW, his Q & A thread is still open; you should have some fun and ask him a question there.

Veal's night is done. 4 2/3's IP, 3 hits, 4 ER, 6 walks, 5 K's, 2 homers allowed. Definitely not a good night for Veal. Estrada came in to finish the 5th for Peoria and he is now in line for the win if Peoria can hold on.
