While it could be just a slow start, Millar has been abysmal this year.

203/286/362. :puker:

Ugly. In a hitter's park, no? Is he traditionally a slow starter?

2003-2005 splits show April to be his lowest OPS month at 722. He is at 813 overall during those years.

I'd much, much rather have Millar than Conine.

Is that like saying I'd rather be kicked in the head than punched in the nuts.

It's more like kicked in the shin or punched in the kidneys. It's not like we're pursuing Tuffy Rhodes.

Going after Tuffy Rhodes would be like having electrobes taped to the scrotum.

Is Pujols available? He's having a good year.

Haven't you heard? He's bad around the clubhouse, you know, with the flipping bats and everything?

What are you talking about? That kind of production would be GREAT for our offense!

The sad part is that's actually pretty close to true.

The subject of rumors regarding a possible trade to the Cubs, first baseman Kevin Millar told the Providence Journal he would have to think about approving a move to Chicago.

Here's the sad thing about the Cubs current situation. The fact that such a crappy player would have "to think about approving a move to Chicago" tells you HOW LOW this team is, right now.

Not that I endorse going after Millar: The Cowboy Idiot, but it does show that right now... there are some players that may not be all that interested in going to the Cubs.

It's obvious why a player would have to think about a move to Chicago.

They know that unless they get a hit in their first 18 at bats, they'll get booed out of town.

But it won't affect their playing time because of Baker. For somebody like Millar, that could be attractive.
